SAMRO is saddened by the passing of DJ and composer Caven Masetla, widely known as Poizen.

A former member of House Victimz, Poizen was admired for his contributions to South African dance music. He will be remembered as a talented and beloved DJ, composer, music producer, and creative force in the local music scene.

SAMRO extends heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and the music community at large.

my heart aches deeper as I try to comprehend how affected the whole house music industry is. you know, at first, besides I jammed heavy on house victimz, I wasn't much into Poizen's productions til recently "against all odds ep" with earful soul.

now eager to hear more of his baselines and sound, I'm shuttered. he's no longer with us. what hurts mosts is the very last song he coproduced with Chymamusique "Don't Wait Until I'm Gone", which took everyone by storm but just days after release, both legends get into a fatal accident.

ha ke tshelisehe keo chaele. Pray for Chymamusique, he needs us...🙏😭 & we already lost so much from Poizen, we can't lose two. Rest In Eternal Peace Poizen.
