Types of Website Layouts β Explained
Website layout refers to how content is structured and arranged on a webpage. Choosing the right layout improves user experience, readability, and engagement.
1. Static Layout
A static layout has a fixed width and does not change based on screen size.
It looks the same on all devices, but may not be ideal for mobile users.
2. Fluid Layout
A fluid (or liquid) layout uses percentages instead of fixed units.
This allows the content to stretch or shrink depending on the screen size.
3. Responsive Layout
Responsive layouts automatically adjust to different screen sizes (desktop, tablet, mobile).
This is the most commonly used layout today for modern websites.
4. Single Page Layout
All content is placed on one long scrolling page.
It is ideal for portfolios, landing pages, and simple websites.
5. Multi-Page Layout
Content is divided across multiple pages connected by navigation links.
Best suited for large websites like blogs, e-commerce, and corporate sites.
6. Grid Layout
Content is organized into rows and columns.
This layout creates a clean and structured look, often used in galleries and dashboards.
7. Magazine Layout
Inspired by print magazines, it combines images and text blocks.
Perfect for blogs, news websites, and content-heavy platforms.
8. Fullscreen Layout
Uses the entire screen to display content, often with large images or sliders.
Great for storytelling, photography, and creative websites.
9. Split Screen Layout
Divides the screen into two sections.
Useful for comparing content or presenting dual options side by side

Choosing the right layout:
* Improves user experience
* Increases engagement
