πŸ”₯πŸ‡±πŸ‡Έ BOOM! UNPOPULAR FACT β€” WEDNESDAY WISDOM

β€œTHE KINGDOM IN THE SKY NEEDS A GENERATION TO CARRY IT.”

There is an unpopular truth we need to discuss.

Lesotho does not only need young people who know where they come from.

Lesotho needs young people who understand why their heritage matters, what their responsibilities are, and what kind of country they are preparing to leave behind.

Our beautiful mountain kingdom is often called:

πŸ‡±πŸ‡Έ THE KINGDOM IN THE SKY.

But here is the question:

Who will maintain the Kingdom in the Sky when today's generation becomes tomorrow's leaders?

Not only politicians.

Not only priests.

Not only teachers.

Not only professionals.

All of us.

Because a country is maintained not only in Parliament.

It is maintained in the home.

In the classroom.

In the church.

In the workplace.

In the village.

In the community.

And especially in the character of its young people.

πŸ’₯ UNPOPULAR FACT #1

A youth problem is often a community problem wearing a young person's face.

When a young person becomes involved in harmful behaviour, our first question is often:

Β«β€œWhat is wrong with this child?”»

Perhaps we should sometimes ask:

Β«β€œWhat happened around this child before they reached this point?”»

Family instability.

Poverty.

Peer pressure.

Unemployment.

Substance abuse.

Bullying.

Lack of opportunities.

School difficulties.

Abuse.

Loneliness.

Poor mentorship.

Lack of positive role models.

And sometimes simply having nobody to talk to.

This does not remove personal responsibility.

But understanding the root does not mean excusing the behaviour.

It means we can treat the wound instead of repeatedly shouting at the symptom.

πŸ’₯ UNPOPULAR FACT #2

Poverty is not a character defect.

A young person growing up with fewer resources does not automatically have less intelligence, less dignity or less potential.

Sometimes the problem is not a lack of dreams.

It is a lack of access.

That is why youth empowerment cannot simply mean:

β€œWork hard.”

We must also ask:

Where are the opportunities?
Where are the skills?
Where are the mentors?
Where are the safe spaces?
Where are the networks?
Where are the doors?

And when a door does not existβ€”

we must learn to build one.

πŸ’₯ UNPOPULAR FACT #3

Heritage without responsibility becomes nostalgia.

We can celebrate Basotho culture.

We can celebrate our mountains.

We can celebrate our language.

We can celebrate our history.

We can honour our chiefs, elders and ancestors.

We can wear traditional clothing.

We can sing our songs.

We can tell our stories.

But if our young people inherit the culture without inheriting discipline, responsibility, respect, courage, honesty and community spirit, then we have preserved the appearance while losing part of the spirit.

Heritage is not only what we inherit.

Heritage is what we responsibly pass forward.

πŸ‡±πŸ‡Έ THE KINGDOM IN THE SKY IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY.

πŸ’₯ UNPOPULAR FACT #4 β€” CATHOLIC WISDOM

The Catholic Church does not teach us to see young people merely as problems to be managed.

Every human person possesses God-given dignity.

Therefore, the young person who is struggling is still a person of dignity.

The young person who failed is still a person of dignity.

The unemployed young person is still a person of dignity.

The young person from a poor family is still a person of dignity.

The young person who made a serious mistake still needs truth, responsibility, correction and the possibility of rebuilding their life.

Dignity does not mean removing accountability.

It means correcting people without destroying their humanity.

That is the kind of youth formation we need.

πŸ™πŸ½ FAITH THAT BECOMES ACTION.

Not Christianity that exists only inside the church building.

But Christianity that enters:

the classroom,
the family,
the community,
the workplace,
the village,
the streets,
the decisions we make,
and the way we treat another human being.

πŸ’₯ UNPOPULAR FACT #5

Youth empowerment without character formation can create powerful people who do not know how to use power.

We need educated young people.

But we also need honest young people.

We need ambitious young people.

But also humble young people.

We need confident young people.

But also disciplined young people.

We need leaders.

But leaders who understand that:

LEADERSHIP IS SERVICE BEFORE IT IS STATUS.

🌍 FROM THE COMMUNITY β†’ TO THE DISTRICT β†’ TO THE NATION

The root causes may look different from place to place.

But they connect.

A struggling household affects a community.

A struggling community affects a district.

Struggling districts affect the nation.

And national problems eventually return to the household.

Therefore:

Youth empowerment must also move in the same direction.

Empower the individual.

Strengthen the family.

Build the community.

Develop the district.

Strengthen the nation.

πŸ‡±πŸ‡Έ THAT IS HOW WE MAINTAIN THE KINGDOM IN THE SKY.

Not by waiting for someone else.

By becoming responsible citizens today.

🌱 THE BOSCO RISE LESOTHO WAY

We believe youth empowerment must develop the:

πŸ•ŠοΈ Spirit β€” Faith and relationship with God.

🧠 Mind β€” Education, critical thinking and knowledge.

❀️ Heart β€” Compassion, empathy and love.

πŸ’ͺ🏽 Character β€” Discipline, integrity and responsibility.

🀝🏽 Community β€” Solidarity, teamwork and service.

πŸ‡±πŸ‡Έ Heritage β€” Respect for Basotho identity, culture and history.

πŸš€ Future β€” Skills, opportunities, innovation and leadership.

Because the goal is not simply to produce young people who say:

β€œI want to leave Lesotho.”

We must also inspire young people to say:

β€œI want to help build Lesotho.”

Some may travel.

Some may study abroad.

Some may work in other countries.

Some may return.

Some may stay.

But wherever they goβ€”

let them carry the values of home with them.

πŸ”₯ BOOM! HERE IS THE REAL UNPOPULAR FACT:

Β«A nation does not lose its future when young people dream of leaving. It loses its future when young people stop believing that their contribution can make a difference.Β»

So let us not only ask:

β€œWhat is wrong with our youth?”

Let us ask:

β€œWhat are we doing to make it possible for our youth to become everything God has created them to be?”

And let us not only say:

β€œThe youth are the future.”

Let us say:

β€œTHE YOUTH ARE ALREADY BUILDING THE FUTURE β€” TODAY.”

🌍 WEDNESDAY WISDOM | THE GENERATION WE ARE BECOMING

Today is Wednesday.

Somewhere today, a young person is sitting in a classroom.

Another is preparing for examinations.

Another is learning a trade.

Another is working to support a family.

Another is searching for employment.

Another is caring for a younger sibling.

Another is being raised by a grandmother.

Another is trying to understand life after growing up in a difficult home.

Another is fighting peer pressure.

Another is afraid of failing.

Another is afraid of disappointing their parents.

Another is trying so hard to look strong while silently asking:

β€œAm I going in the right direction?”

And perhaps another young person is doing something nobody expected from them β€” choosing to change.

🌱 HERE IS TODAY'S UNPOPULAR WISDOM:

Not every young person needs more motivation.
Some need direction.

Not every young person needs criticism.
Some need someone to teach them.

Not every young person needs another lecture.
Some need an opportunity.

Not every young person needs applause.
Some need accountability.

And sometimes, a young person needs all four:

Direction. Opportunity. Accountability. Encouragement.

πŸ”₯ ANOTHER UNPOPULAR FACT:

We often say:

Β«β€œThe youth are the future.”»

But the youth are also the present.

The decisions we make about education, family, employment, discipline, technology, faith, leadership and opportunities today are already shaping the nation.

We cannot keep preparing young people for a future while ignoring what they are experiencing right now.

πŸ“š EDUCATION IS IMPORTANT β€” BUT EDUCATION ALONE IS NOT ENOUGH.

We need young people who can pass examinations.

But we also need young people who can make decisions.

We need young people who can obtain degrees.

But we also need young people who possess integrity.

We need nurses, teachers, lawyers, engineers, entrepreneurs, farmers, artists, technicians and leaders.

But above every profession, we need good human beings.

Because a qualification can open a door.

Character determines what happens after you enter.

🧭 DISCIPLINE IS NOT THE ENEMY OF FREEDOM.

Sometimes we want freedom without responsibility.

We want success without sacrifice.

We want opportunities without preparation.

We want respect without discipline.

We want leadership without service.

But life does not work that way.

The person who learns to control today's choices is preparing themselves for tomorrow's responsibilities.

Your future is not built only by the big decisions you make once in a while.

It is built by the small decisions you repeat every day.

Who do you listen to?

What do you consume?

How do you treat people?

How do you use your time?

Do you keep your word?

Do you accept correction?

Do you study when nobody is watching?

Do you pray when nobody is watching?

Do you continue when nobody applauds?

These questions matter.

❀️ TO PARENTS, GRANDPARENTS AND GUARDIANS:

Your child does not only need school fees.

They need your presence.

They need boundaries.

They need conversation.

They need correction without humiliation.

They need encouragement without spoiling them.

They need to know:

β€œEven when I correct you, I have not stopped believing in you.”

And to every mother, father and grandparent sacrificing for the next generation:

Your ordinary sacrifices may be building an extraordinary future.

🌍 TO THE YOUTH:

Do not allow society to convince you that your circumstances are your identity.

Coming from poverty does not mean you have no potential.

Coming from a broken family does not mean you cannot build a healthy future.

Failing an examination does not mean you are a failure.

Being unemployed today does not mean you have no value.

Making a mistake does not mean your story is finished.

Being different does not mean you are lost.

But remember:

Your circumstances may explain where you are.
They do not have to decide where you are going.

You still have choices.

Choose learning.

Choose discipline.

Choose faith.

Choose good friendships.

Choose responsibility.

Choose service.

Choose courage.

Choose to ask for help when you need it.

Choose to become the person you once needed.

🌱 THE BOSCO RISE QUESTION FOR THIS WEDNESDAY:

If every young person in Lesotho became tomorrow exactly what they are practicing today, what kind of country would we have?

Think about it.

Because the nation we dream about is being built quietly in classrooms, homes, churches, workplaces, streets, businesses and youth groups today.

We don't need a perfect generation.

We need a generation willing to grow.

A generation willing to learn.

A generation willing to be corrected.

A generation willing to serve.

A generation willing to protect one another.

A generation willing to say:

β€œI may not have everything, but I can start with what I have.”

πŸ”₯ OUR CORE VALUES

FAITH β€” because purpose needs a foundation.

DISCIPLINE β€” because potential without discipline remains potential.

SERVICE β€” because leadership is not about being above people.

INTEGRITY β€” because character matters when nobody is watching.

EDUCATION β€” because knowledge expands possibilities.

COURAGE β€” because doing what is right is not always popular.

RESPECT β€” because every person carries dignity.

UNITY β€” because no generation rises alone.

RESPONSIBILITY β€” because our choices affect others.

HOPE β€” because tomorrow can be different when we begin building today.

✨ WEDNESDAY WISDOM

Β«β€œDon't ask only what the world is doing to the youth. Ask what we are doing to prepare the youth for the world.”»

And perhaps the greatest question is not:

β€œWhat will the youth become?”

but:

β€œWhat are we helping them become?”

Let us build young people who don't only want a better lifeβ€”

but who are prepared to build one. 🌱

πŸŒ₯️ TUESDAY WISDOM | WHEN THE WORLD IS COLD, LET OUR HEARTS REMAIN WARM πŸ•ŠοΈ

Today is Tuesday.

For some, this Tuesday began inside a classroom.
For others, behind a desk.
For others, in a hospital, a workplace, a street stall, a home, a prison cell, or somewhere nobody knows their story.

Some young people are studying to become nurses, teachers, lawyers, engineers, entrepreneurs and professionals.
Some are preparing for their final examinations, counting the remaining weeks while carrying the pressure of expectations.

Some are working to support their families.

Some are being raised by grandparents.
Some are being raised by mothers who carry responsibilities alone.
Some have fathers working tirelessly so that their children can have a different future.

Some are quietly fighting fear, peer pressure, loneliness, family difficulties, disappointment, confusion and the pressure to appear perfect.

And some are simply asking:

β€œWhere am I going with my life?”

Yet sometimes society looks at the young person and sees only the behaviour.

We see the mistake, but not the wound.
We see the failure, but not the effort.
We see the attitude, but not the struggle.
We see the result, but not the journey.

And sometimes we make the mistake of calling serious problems β€œnormal.”

Poverty becomes normal.
Corruption becomes normal.
Broken families become normal.
Young people losing direction becomes normal.
Fear becomes normal.
Unemployment becomes normal.
Lack of discipline becomes normal.
Silence becomes normal.

But what becomes common must never become acceptable simply because we have become accustomed to it.

πŸ“– TODAY'S GOSPEL SPEAKS TO US

Jesus places a child among His disciples and teaches them about humility. He then speaks about the importance of not despising the little ones and tells of the shepherd who searches for the one sheep that has gone astray.

That Gospel challenges every one of us.

If you are a young person:

You are not a problem to be tolerated. You are a life to be accompanied, formed and empowered.

If you are a parent:

Your child does not only need correction. Your child needs presence, guidance, patience, boundaries, prayer and someone who believes that tomorrow can be better.

If you are a teacher:

Remember that behind every learner is a story you may never completely know. Teach the subject, but never forget the person.

If you are a leader:

Do not measure your success by how many people follow you. Measure it by how many people become stronger because you served them.

If you are a young person preparing for examinations:

Do not let one difficult season convince you that your whole life is a failure. Keep preparing. Keep learning. Keep praying. Keep asking for help. Your present chapter is not your entire book.

And if you feel lost:

Remember the Shepherd.

The Gospel reminds us that God cares about the one who has gone astray.

You are not invisible to God.

🌱 A MESSAGE FOR OUR YOUNG GENERATION

We need a generation that does not only ask:

β€œWhat can I get?”

but also:

β€œWhat can I become?”

And eventually:

β€œWhat can I give?”

We need young people with knowledge and character.

Ambition and humility.

Education and wisdom.

Confidence and discipline.

Faith and action.

Dreams and responsibility.

We cannot empower young people by simply telling them to β€œwork hard.”

We must also help create environments where they can learn, fail safely, ask questions, discover their gifts, receive correction, develop skills and believe that their lives have meaning.

🌍 AND TO OUR MOTHERS, FATHERS, GRANDPARENTS AND GUARDIANS…

Your sacrifices may not always be announced.

Your children may not always understand what you are carrying.

But every meal you provide, every school requirement you try to meet, every prayer you whisper, every correction you give, every opportunity you create and every day you choose not to give up matters.

You are planting seeds whose shade you may not live long enough to sit under.

To every woman carrying the responsibility of raising and supporting a family:

Your strength matters. Your dignity matters. Your work matters. Your story matters.

As we continue reflecting on women and the contribution of women in our communities, let us not only celebrate women with words. Let us build families and communities where women are respected, supported and given opportunities to flourish.

❄️ THIS COLD TUESDAY

The mountains may be cold.

The clouds may be heavy.

The wind may be strong.

But perhaps today's weather can teach us something:

A cold environment does not mean that the human heart must become cold.

Where there is poverty, let there be compassion.

Where there is confusion, let there be guidance.

Where there is failure, let there be another opportunity.

Where there is corruption, let there be integrity.

Where there is fear, let there be courage.

Where there is loneliness, let there be community.

Where there is a lost young person, let somebody become the person who searches for them.

And where there is darkness, let somebody decide to become a light.

πŸ“– TODAY'S FIRST READING GIVES US ANOTHER LESSON

Ezekiel is told to receive God's Word and then go and speak it to the people. The Word must first enter him before he can carry it to others.

That is a powerful lesson for youth empowerment:

Before we try to change society, we must allow God to change us.

Before we demand better leaders, let us become people of integrity.

Before we complain about undisciplined young people, let us model discipline.

Before we ask for responsible parents, let us become responsible sons and daughters.

Before we ask society to care about the vulnerable, let us begin caring about the person standing beside us.

πŸ”₯ THE BOSCO RISE WISDOM FOR THIS TUESDAY

Β«β€œNever call a generation hopeless simply because you have not yet discovered how to accompany it.”»

A young person is not merely a statistic.

A struggling family is not merely a social problem.

A poor person is not merely a number.

A student who is failing is not a failure.

A mother struggling alone is not invisible.

A grandfather raising grandchildren is not forgotten.

A person who has lost direction is not beyond redemption.

Every person carries a story.
Every story deserves dignity.
Every young life deserves a chance.
And every chance becomes stronger when faith, family, education, discipline and community walk together.

πŸ™ PRAYER FOR THIS TUESDAY

Lord Jesus,

Give our young people courage to discover who they are and wisdom to choose the right path.

Strengthen every mother, father, grandparent, teacher and guardian carrying the responsibility of raising the next generation.

Remember those who feel forgotten, those who are struggling, those who are searching for direction and those whose stories are known only to You.

Teach us not to despise the little ones.

Give us the heart of the Good Shepherd β€” a heart that notices, searches, accompanies, protects and rejoices when the lost is found.

May Your Word enter our hearts before it leaves our mouths.

May our education produce wisdom.

May our success produce service.

May our faith produce action.

And may our lives become evidence that with God, a difficult beginning does not have to become a hopeless ending.

Amen. πŸ™πŸ½

πŸ‡±πŸ‡Έ BOSCO RISE LESOTHO β€” AN INVITATION TO COLLABORATE

β€œWho Am I, and What Will I Do With Who I Am?”

Bosco Rise Lesotho is growing from a simple idea into a movement that seeks to accompany, empower and form young people wherever they are β€” in our parishes, schools, communities, playgrounds, families and even among those who are often forgotten or left behind.

Today, as we look at the realities facing young people in Lesotho, we recognise both the opportunities and the challenges before us.

We see young people with incredible talents in sports, music, media, leadership, faith, education, creativity and community service. We also see challenges such as division, lack of opportunities, broken relationships, poverty, exclusion, loss of trust, and young people who need someone to believe in them.

Bosco Rise Lesotho wants to be part of the response.

Our vision is to bring together FAITH, HERITAGE, CHARACTER, IDENTITY, TALENT AND SERVICE, inspired by the Gospel, the Catholic tradition, the richness of Basotho heritage and the Salesian spirit of accompanying young people.

But we know that Bosco Rise cannot and should not do this alone.

🀝 WE ARE INVITING YOU TO COLLABORATE

We are opening our doors to:

β›ͺ Parishes that would like to bring Bosco Rise initiatives to their young people.

🏫 Schools and educators who want to support youth formation, leadership and personal development.

πŸ‘₯ Youth organisations and movements that believe in working together rather than working separately.

🎨 Artists, musicians, sports people, creatives and mentors who can help young people discover and develop their gifts.

πŸ“š Professionals and people with experience who can contribute ideas, strategies, research, training and guidance.

πŸ™ Church leaders, religious communities and lay people who see value in accompanying young people.

πŸ’‘ Young people themselves who have ideas and want to contribute to building something meaningful.

🀝 Individuals and organisations who can support Bosco Rise with resources, equipment, spaces, skills, connections or other forms of assistance.

WE ARE ALSO OPEN TO CORRECTION.

If you believe Bosco Rise Lesotho can improve, tell us.

If you see a weakness, help us understand it.

If you have a better strategy, share it.

If you have an idea, bring it.

If you have experience that can help us grow, walk with us.

If you have a parish or community where you believe Bosco Rise could make a difference, let us know.

We do not want to build Bosco Rise around one person's ideas.

We want to build it through collaboration, listening, learning, evaluating, improving and serving.

πŸ‡±πŸ‡Έ OUR QUESTION IS SIMPLE:

What can we build together for the young people of Lesotho?

Let us create spaces where a young person can play, learn, pray, discover their talent, understand their identity, appreciate their heritage, develop their character, serve others and find hope for the future.

Let us remember the young person who is in church.

The young person who is at school.

The young person on the sports field.

The young person with a talent that nobody has discovered yet.

The young person in hospital.

The young person in a difficult family situation.

The young person who feels forgotten.

The young person who has made mistakes and needs another opportunity.

Every young person has a story. Every young person has dignity. Every young person has potential.

Bosco Rise Lesotho wants to walk with them.

🌱 WE ARE NOT LOOKING FOR PEOPLE TO SIMPLY SUPPORT A NAME.

We are looking for people who believe in the mission.

People willing to contribute.

People willing to challenge us.

People willing to collaborate.

People willing to open doors.

People willing to share knowledge.

People willing to build relationships.

People willing to invest in young people.

Because when we invest in young people, we invest in the future of Lesotho. πŸ‡±πŸ‡Έ

Tuesday Wisdom | Build the Future, Don't Wait for It

There is a dangerous lie spreading among many young people:

"Because life is difficult, my future is already decided."

That is not true.

Some young people are waiting for scholarships to continue their education.
Some are anxious because passport delays may affect their studies.
Some have dropped out of school and believe they can never succeed.
Some are graduates who have submitted countless job applications without receiving a single response.
Some are running small businesses just to survive.
Some dream of becoming nurses, doctors, lawyers, teachers, engineers, software developers, entrepreneurs, scientists, farmers, artists, or priestsβ€”but they don't know where to begin.

These struggles are real.

But our response to them matters.

The future of Lesotho will not only be built in Parliament or in offices. It will also be built in classrooms, workshops, farms, hospitals, laboratories, churches, courtrooms, small businesses, and by young people who choose honesty when corruption seems easier.

The Gospel reminds us that God calls ordinary people to do extraordinary things through faithfulness. We may not control every obstacle we face, but we can choose our character, our effort, and our hope.

Ask yourself today:

- Am I learning a skill that will help me serve others?
- Am I growing in faith as well as knowledge?
- Am I becoming the kind of person I would trust to lead my community?
- What am I doing today that my future self will thank me for?

As Catholics inspired by St. John Bosco, we believe education is more than passing examinations. It forms the whole personβ€”mind, heart, and spirit.

πŸ™ Prayer

Lord Jesus,

Bless every young person in Lesotho.

Strengthen those who are studying.
Guide those searching for work.
Encourage those who feel discouraged.
Protect those facing injustice.
Give wisdom to our leaders.
Help us reject corruption, choose integrity, and work for the common good.

Teach us not only to dream of a better future, but to help build one with faith, hard work, and love.

Amen.

Today, choose one step forward. Read one chapter. Learn one skill. Apply for one opportunity. Help one person. Pray one sincere prayer.

Small faithful steps, repeated every day, can change a life.

πŸ‡±πŸ‡Έ BOSCO RISE LESOTHO | TUESDAY MORNING REFLECTION
Tuesday, 4 August 2026

"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God." (Matthew 5:9)

πŸŒ… Good morning, Lesotho!

Today, let us thank God for the precious gift of life and for the opportunity to begin another day. Every sunrise is a reminder that God has not finished writing our story.

As we continue through Women's Month, we give thanks for every mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, religious sister, teacher, caregiver, and every woman whose love, sacrifice, and strength help build our families, our Church, and our nation. May God bless and strengthen them.

Today, we also remember every person across Lesotho:

- πŸ“š Students learning in schools, colleges, and universities.
- πŸ‘· Young people working hard to earn an honest living.
- πŸ₯ Those who are sick or caring for the sick.
- πŸ™ Priests, religious, seminarians, and all those discerning their vocation.
- πŸ’ Married couples and families.
- πŸ›οΈ Street vendors, hawkers, and small business owners.
- πŸ’Ό Graduates and young people searching for employment.
- ❀️ Those carrying burdens that no one else can see.

The Scriptures today remind us that God is always present with His people. Even when life is uncertain, He continues to guide those who trust Him. Our hope is not built on easy circumstances but on God's faithful love.

King Moshoeshoe I built this nation by bringing people together, seeking peace, and choosing unity even in difficult times. His example reminds us that a strong nation is built when people stand together with respect, compassion, and wisdom.

A Wisdom for Today

"The greatest poverty among young people is not the absence of moneyβ€”it is the absence of hope, purpose, and people who believe in them. When a family chooses love over anger, forgiveness over revenge, and unity over division, it builds a future no challenge can destroy."

As families, let us support one another.
As young people, let us choose integrity over shortcuts.
As a nation, let us build bridges instead of walls.
As Christians, let us remember that Christ calls us to be instruments of peace and hope.

Pope Francis has often encouraged young people with these words:

Β«"Dear young people, do not let anyone rob you of hope."Β»

May those words inspire us today to keep moving forward, even when life is difficult.

πŸ™ Morning Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the gift of this new day.

Bless every family in Lesotho. Strengthen our mothers and fathers, encourage our grandparents, guide our brothers and sisters, and protect every child and young person.

Give wisdom to our leaders, hope to the unemployed, healing to the sick, strength to those who work, courage to students, peace to families experiencing difficulties, and joy to those who serve You in the Church.

Help us to be united in love, to care for one another, and to build a Lesotho where every young person can grow in faith, dignity, and hope.

May St. John Bosco pray for us and inspire us to serve young people with generosity and love.

Amen.

May your Tuesday be filled with peace, wisdom, courage, and God's abundant blessings.
