The Lesotho Economic Freedom Fighters (LEFF) notes with profound concern and revolutionary regret the decision taken by the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) on 10 December 2025 to deregister our organization, alongside a number of other political formations.

This development, while serious, does not shake the foundations of our movement nor does it derail the historic mission entrusted to us by the oppressed, the working class, and the youth of this country. LEFF is a militant, anti-capitalist and anti-imperialist movement, born out of struggle and built to withstand any attempt to silence the voice of the people.

The organization is currently studying this matter in detail and will, in due course, announce the appropriate and decisive course of action. Our response shall be guided strictly by the Constitution of the LEFF, the supreme interests of the people, and our unwavering revolutionary discipline.

In the meantime, the LEFF assures all Fighters, ground forces, and supporters across the Kingdom of Lesotho that:

We continueโ€”without hesitationโ€”to build and defend the organization in line with Article 3 of our Constitution, which mandates us to establish a socialist state, fight exploitation, and uphold the rule of law for the liberation of Basotho.

The deregistration is not a defeat; it is a clarion call to heighten vigilance and unity. It strengthens our resolve to rebuild and fortify the organization in every district, region, and branch. The LEFF is an idea whose time has come โ€” and no administrative decision can erase the consciousness and resistance we have already planted among our people.

The LEFF reiterates that the struggle for Economic Freedom in Our Lifetime is non-negotiable. We shall confront every obstacle with the courage of our fallen heroes and heroines, whose legacy we vowed to defend without compromise.
