As a chef 🧑‍🍳 I always use my kitchen waste in my backyard garden.

Kitchen waste is generally beneficial for organic compost when managed properly. Here’s why:

By diverting organic waste from landfills, you help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and minimize the environmental impact associated with waste disposal.

The nutrients released from composted kitchen waste enrich the soil, leading to healthier and more productive plants with increased resistance to pests and diseases.

Adding organic matter from kitchen waste improves soil structure, increases moisture retention, and promotes beneficial microbial activity, creating a more fertile and resilient garden environment.

You can use various types of kitchen waste in the garden, including:Fruit and vegetable scraps: Peels, cores, and other leftovers from fruits and vegetables.

Coffee grounds and tea leaves: Rich in nitrogen, these can be added to compost to enhance its nutrient content.

Crushed eggshells add calcium to the soil, which is beneficial for plants.Non-greasy food scraps: Leftover grains, bread, pasta, and similar items can be composted.

Vegetable cooking water used to boil vegetables can be cooled and used as a natural fertilizer for plants.Paper towels and napkins: If they're not contaminated with chemicals or grease, these can be composted.

Dry leaves and yard waste, While not strictly kitchen waste, they can be added to compost bins along with kitchen scraps to create nutrient-rich compost.
