According to Dr. Maparyan, ongoing discussions about the future development of the university and the rising operational costs should not be interpreted as an immediate fee hike for students.
By:University of Liberia Parrot
“As I said last week and this week on my radio show, we are NOT raising student fees now or next semester, but we need to think together and dialogue about how to achieve the University we want given the rising costs of the things we want,” she wrote.
She further stressed the importance of constructive dialogue on finding sustainable ways to improve the university’s standards and services while managing increasing expenses.
“There are many possible strategies, so let's have that conversation and don’t run from it”! she added.
Her clarification follows growing public debate and concerns among students and civil society groups over reports suggesting a possible increase in UL registration fees.
