Barcelona close to signing 16-year-old midfielder compared to Andres Iniesta - Reports

Barcelona are reportedly close to signing a 16-year-old midfielder - Adrian Gill - who has been compared with club legend Andreas Iniesta.
Gill, born in Denver, Colorado, is part of the Blaugrana youth setup. His performances for the Barca under 16's have prompted the La Liga club to think about giving the American his first professional contract.
His rise to prominence has seen him getting called up by his country for the USYNT U17 setup, where he has impressed. Blaugrana manager Xavi Hernandez is keen to use La Masia talent, having come through the youth ranks at the club himself.

The interest in the 16-year-old doesn't end there, as Gill is just one of many youthful talents bursting at the seams of the academy.

Gill's comparison with Iniesta, with whom Xavi enjoyed a hugely successful time playing for the Blaugrana with, only adds to the impressive profile of the midfield talent.

The American is right-footed, comfortable on the ball and glides past opposition. A first professional contract for the youngster is being prepared by Xavi and the chiefs at the Camp Nou, according to El Nacional .

Barcelona's bright future

La Masia has developed some of football's greatest talents. The likes of legendary forward Lionel Messi , Cesc Fabregas, Sergio Busquets and current Barcelona forward Ansu Fati have all come through the highly regarded academy.
Moreover, Barcelona have an array of youthful talents plying their trade at La Masia today.

Alongside the aforementioned Adrian Gill, there is another American talent in Diego Kochen. He's a goalkeeper who's touted for a bright future at the club. He could be a long-term fixture for the Blaugrana, having impressed the Blaugrana bosses.

MONROVIA – The MLB members and Board of Trustees through its Chairman Emeritus, Chuchu Alex Jones extend deepest apologies to our first lady and all Liberian woman for the vile and repugnant insults, as described in the book published by Isaac Vah Tukpah and Emmanuel Clarke.

MLB said while they do not support the arrest and/or restrictions of Isaac Vah Tukpah’s movement by the Liberian government, but condemn Tukpah’s actions, content, and book publication in the strongest terms.

According to the MLB press release, the Trustee and Secretary-General MLB, Mr. Willie Dillon, have made the decision to permanently ban Tukpah and Emmanuel Clarke from its chatroom and all MLB’s activities.

“We will continue to monitor the situation and put out further public statements as warranted.

“We will also like to use this opportunity to applaud Mr. Alexander B. Cummings for his courage and swift firing of Ivah Tukpah as his Chief of Staff,” the statement added.

The MLB[‘s release further said, “We call on all political leaders to publicly condemn the insults and denudation of our Liberian woman at this time.”

“We also like to thank our strong Liberian women advocates for their tireless work and pledge our full support of their initiatives and campaigns in defense of Liberian women,” the release concluded

Thieves Get Caught, One Beaten To Death, One Got Saved After Stealing Phone

On yesterday night, two young guys who are always in the habit of stealing bikes and phones were caught in the Cole Farm community, Brewerville, District-17. The news indicate that the two young guys were on the move last night stealing phones and bikes from people. Sadly, they stole a kehkeh rider phone at Iron Gate but was not successful in the escape which led to bike riders and other people chasing after them. While chasing after them they ran to in the Cole Farm community, Brewerville for safety but sadly one was caught while the other ran to a police officer resident. The one that was caught was beaten to death while the other thief was saved by the police office.

The other thief that was saved by the police officer has been sent to the police station zone-6 in Brewerville this morning.

Every year, there are uncountable Police brutalities at the match venues because the Police keep repeating the same mistakes.

They care less about who they’re dealing with no matter what kind of identification is shown. Here is an employee of youth and sports identifying himself to police when there was chaos before the Bassa and Nimba game. He showed his tag with all the necessary information on it and tried to explain his role, but he still got flogged by the police.

Many times, when a journalist or an employee get brutalized at venues, it’s because the police fail to acknowledge who they’re dealing with. Some will read every information on tags and see other identification cards, what their minds tell them to do are what they’ll do. Some don’t even care to read anything or see anything, they’ll just do what they want to do. They don’t care if it’s right or wrong.

These things happen many times when I’m on the scene and they always happen for the same reasons. I’ve been a victim several times. Recently, I miss most of the time in the final games in Margibi because a police refused to let me in. He saw my tag, ID Cards but insisted I cannot go in to do my work. Thanks to a colleague who’s based in Margibi that later pleaded for me.

Imagine having a tag with all access, holding a camera and positioning behind the goal posts area or the sides of the pitch where photo journalists should be, a policeman walks to you and say ‘hey! you’re not supposed to be here! You should move somewhere else.’ He’s telling you that you’re not supposed to be there but he’s not showing you where to go. (That’s how journalists Chris Walker was beaten with his camera getting damaged few years ago.) Imagine that!

I think it’s about time the Ministry of youth and sports work with the national police to have trained sports police unit. We need a special unit that will be fully trained and deployed during sports events! If not, we’ll have police brutalizing people for the wrong reasons every year.
