Legislative Update From the Media Communications officer of Senator Dillon.

Today at the fifth sitting session of the Liberian Senate, Senator Abe Darius Dillon bill for the establishment of the "National Food Assistant Agency (NFAA) was brought forth for discussion and debate and senator Dillon, made the case by detailing the importance of the establishment and/or the legalization of this institution.

He uttered that this institution has been in existence, but operating on "Executive Order" and interestedly this institution is even factor in the national budget. On this backdrop, senator Dillon, explained to his colleagues that passing this Bill and/or legalizing this institution will enable the national legislature to exercise overnight over this institution and even hold it accountable for whatever action, misappropriation or mismanagement of public funds.

During the debate, senator Milton Teahjay, of Sinoe County, Senator Willington Geevon Smith, of River Cess, senator Kiapay of Grand Bassa, senator Nyonblee, of Grand Bassa, senator Jonathan of River Gee, senator Taylor of Grand Cape Mount and many others supported and buttress the effort of Senator Dillon, for proffering the Bill to establish the National Food Assistant Authority (NFAA) and they all made references to the $25 million dollars that was appropriated by the legislature for COVID-19 stimulus package that was mismanaged by WFP and they asserted that if this agency was in existence, the mismanagement of such huge sum of money wouldn't have happened.

Conclusively, a motion was raised by senator Naatehn of Gbarpolu County, for the acceptance of this Bill and put into vote and it was seconded by senator Nyonblee of Grand Bassa County. The Senate Pro Temp, then open the floor for voting and the voting was done.

The voting was done by counties:

1. Sen. Abe Darius Dillon, Montserrado County—Yes
2. Sen. Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence Grand Bassa County—Yes
3. Sen. Jonathan Lambort Kaipay, Grand Bassa County—Yes
4. Sen. Juojulue Milton Teahjay, Sinoe County—Yes
5. Sen. Cllr Augustine S. Chea Sinoe—No
6. Sen. James B. Biney, Maryland County—Yes
7. Sen. Simeon Boima Taylor, Grand Cape Mount County—Yes
8. Sen. Prince Kermue Moye, B**g County—Yes
9. Sen. Prince Johnson, Nimba County—Yes
10. Sen. A. Marshall Denis, Grand Geedeh County—Yes
11. Sen. Stephen J. H. Zargo, Lofa County—Yes
12. Sen. Morris G. Saytumah, Bomi County—No
13. Seb. Jim W. Tornanlah, Margibi County—Yes
14. Sen. Emmanuel James Nuquay, Margibi County—Yes
15. Sen. Wellington Geevon Smith, River Cess County—Yes
16. Sen. Jonathan BoyCharles Sogbie, River Gee County—Yes
17. Sen. Daniel Flomo Naatehn, Gbarpolu County—Yes
18. Sen. Botoe Kanneh, Gbarpolu County—Yes

According to the voting records, eighteen (18) senators voted, Sixteen (16) of which voted "Yes" for and Two (2) voted "No" against. On this backdrop, this Act establishing the National Food Assistant Agency (NFAA) has been passed by the upper house, the house Senate and it will be sent to the lower house, the house of representatives for concurrence.

This is a huge victory for Senator Dillon, and a big win for the people of Montserrado County and Liberia at large. We hope and pray that the house of representatives concur with the Senate mustering the same courage and the wisdom the house of Senate used in passing this Act.
This is to inform FIFA, LNP and all other authorities responsible to monitored Musa Hassan Bility that the LP embattled chairman is currently watching football game at the SKD 😂😂😂😂😂😂.

We were told that Mr Bility shouldn't witness Freetown ball, least to talk about county meet, but he's presently watching Nimba vs Grand Cape Mount game, to be precise. Anyone closer to Mr Bility, please call the nearest police station on these numbers: 077777777777/0888888888. 😂😂😂😂😂 COPIED
Service to humanity, people and country is the true calling of Senator Dillon, the people's Senator and the light.

Many thanks to the people's Senator in Abe Darius Dillon for giving the opportunity and creating the avenue for the children of Liberia under the "Children Parliament" to make the case for all the Liberian children at the Liberian Senate.

This was enable through the influence and the lobbying power of senator Dillon.

Thankfully, our sustained advocacy and fight for reforms, openess, transparency and accountability taking shape bit by bit at the Senate. Thanks to Senate Pro Temp Albert Chie and our Colleagues for seeing reason.

1. On critical issues, the Senate will no longer vote "Yea or Nay". Vote will be on the record ... "Yes or No", name by name; County by County.

2. Senate Rules to be revised to mandate Confirmation of Presidential Nominees be done and taken in "Open Session"; no more "Secret Session."

3. Senate website nearing completion and soon to be activated and made accessible to the public.

More to come ..... God is in control, and we shall not relent!🙏🙏🙏

The African Achievers Awards👌👌👌👌

My son Darius, his wife Maggie and my daughter Dariusetta represented me today in London at the Kensington Palace to receive the African Achievers Award on my behalf. This now makes me an official Recipient of this prestigious Award in the "Excellence in Leadership" category on the African and global stage.

This milestone achievement should further humble and remind me everyday that notwithstanding my imperfection and flaws as a natural human, much much more is expected of me going forward. This should also motivate others to always strive to do and be the best you can in service to country and humanity. We never know who is watching from afar and or near!!!

My heartfelt THANK YOU to the Advisory Board and Organizers of the 11th Edition of the African Achievers Awards Global for recognizing our little effort "towards the promotion of the common African agenda." Thank you, Catheryn Best Bartuah Kenny, for nominating me unknown to me; I am grateful. And, congratulations to my fellow African Achievers. Let us keep the torch of our African Continent alive!!!

Special thanks to my family, friends and our supporters home and abroad for your prayers and support to our work, I deeply appreciate you, all of you; and to our critics for helping to keep us on track with your criticisms.

To God Be all the glory!!!🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

We welcome the extended Mineral Development Agreement (MDA) between the Government of Liberia and world steel giant, Arcelor Mittal. Any such investment should help grow our economy and provide job opportunities for our people.

However, there are some key things to ask and seek answers to before any RATIFICATION of the Arcelor Mittal "Extended Agreement" by the Legislature:

1. The performance Report since Arcelor Mittal's operations in Liberia to show compliance with it's obligations under the current concession agreement to include number of jobs provided for qualified citizens of Liberians.

2. The construction of the beneficiation plant. A beneficiation plant is used for the purpose of processing of minerals to get rid of gangue, or to obtain a final product.
This has not been done.

3. Other corporate social reponsibilities - schools, hospitals and residential structures. Has Arcelor Mittal fulfilled these obligations?

4. Why should we grant Arcelor Mittal or any company exclusive rights to manage and operate our railways? Who benefits from the revenue when other companies use the railways? Mittal or Liberia?

5. Please feel free to include your concerns for consideration!
