GospelGuru Liberia Awards- GGLA will host their first annual gospel awards and showcase artists who deserve nominations or recognition within the Liberian gospel industry. The awards ceremony will be held in Liberia, West Africa, this year, 2022. Other stakeholders joined hands to take this next-level initiative to have an award show to recognize gospel artists impacting the industry.

“Over the years, we have seen Liberian secular awards showcase our gospel artists. While we appreciate their efforts, we firmly believe they are not following Liberian gospel music in a deserving detail to direct their random selection of artists to fulfill their gospel artist of the year category.

Many of us promoters and managers have raised concerns about the gospel artists that were part of their nominations and have witnessed with dissatisfaction how they nominated or awarded artists who hadn't been putting in work or had no presence in their community or social media, in a nutshell— they didn’t deserve any accolades. We strongly believe that people should merit the awards! Seeing the discrepancy in selections, we are gearing up to change the narrative.

For this reason, we are going full-on with nominations entirely based on merit. We will have an unbiased approach to selecting artists who create an impact in and outside our community, network, and nation. We will push for transparency in our selection by permitting the masses to participate hands-on in the preliminary votes for nominations.

We look forward to a new way to view, award, and pay tribute to our gospel artists who merit recognition of the work they are doing to push God's work forward. We are excited to announce this opportunity for our Liberian Gospel industry. Stay tuned for dates, venues, and times for the events leading up to the award day”
