District 17 Steering Committee, Montserrado County, Tuesday, September 28, 2021...
The Steering Committee of District 17 wishes to extend her thanks and appreciations to all residents for their overwhelming support towards the District's Championship in the just ended LFA-Montserrado County Districts League.
Furthermore, the Steering Committee is grateful to the Technical Team and players for the commitment and tireless efforts to our victory. Words are inadequate to express to you.
Having said that, the Steering Committee wants to be definitely clear that the Committee headed by Mr. Mohammed A. Sheriff was not in no way informed of taking the Trophy directly to Hon. Abraham C. Sesay's house.
Such decision was done unilaterally by the Technical Team not with the consent of the Steering Committee.
Chairman Sheriff and other Steering Committee members were far behind, while Hon. Sesay and the team's bus were ahead in the convoy as residents and some eminent citizens were awaiting the team at the team's camp (Molley Square Guest House).
But we later got to know that the team has passed through Hotel Africa, Banjor Junction, Iron Gate and left for Hon. Abraham C. Sesay's house.
We do appreciate Hon. Sesay's huge support towards the team, but he wasn't the only person who supported or contributed to the District success.
We have others like Hon. Jeremiah B. Sackie, Hon. Hanson Kaizolu, D. Myers Chedar,L. Daniel Jaiblai, Ansu Talawally, Ex-miren Teh, Sampson Boye Bernard/J. Henric Pearson, Rev. Moses W. Wonta, Bernard DJ Blue Benson, Cecelia Kpor, Amos Larmie, Team Curtis, and so on...
So taking the Trophy directly to his house is a complete disrespect and act of ungratefulness to others astute residents who stood by us during the process.
Therefore, we want to apologies to all residents for such decision taken by the Technical Team headed by Technical Director Emmanuel Cooper and Head Coach Darius Darway, but we can assure you that strong action with be taken on them to avoid future occurrence.
Their actions is a complete gross disrespect to the people of District 17, our Contributors, and even the Steering Committee who has been all out begging for support.
Once more, we are grateful to all residents for their support as we get prepare to have a very big Awards and Appreciation program in the soonest possible time.
Congratulations District 17...
Signed: Mr. Mohammed A. Sheriff, Chairman, District 17 Steering Committee..
