Community Empowerment for Change formed part of a successfully four-day Training of Trainers (ToT) on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) for Community-Based Support Groups, including Father Support Groups, Mother Support Groups, and Community Savings and Loan Association (CSLA) Groups.
The training was held in Compound #1, Grand Bassa County, and aimed at strengthening the capacity of the ASPIRE Project National Implementing Partners (NIPs) — CEC, CHI, and SHED — who will further roll out the training across ASPIRE-supported communities in District #2, Grand Bassa County.
The Training of Trainers (TOT) was facilitated by Action Against Hunger Liberia, Concern Worldwide, and representatives from the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Department.
The sessions focused on promoting mental wellbeing, psychosocial care, community support mechanisms, and strengthening local capacity to identify and respond to mental health challenges within communities.
CEC remains committed to supporting community resilience, wellbeing, and sustainable development through partnership, learning, and empowerment. 🤝🌱

With heavy hearts, CEC regrets to announce the passing of its dedicated Financial Officer, Mr. Moses J. Kollie
Moses was a committed and hardworking professional who served with integrity, humility, and a deep sense of responsibility. His contributions to CEC and the communities we serve were invaluable, and his presence will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of working with him.
During this difficult time, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones. We stand with you in grief and pray for strength, comfort, and peace.
May his soul rest in perfect peace.

The Community Empowerment Change (CEC), in collaboration with its national and implementing partners, as well as Government of Liberia (GOL) line ministries, has successfully concluded a five (5) days joint monitoring visit to ASPIRE project communities.
The purpose of the visit was to track implementation progress, assess what is working well, identify challenges, and share lessons learned to support timely and effective project delivery.
The monitoring exercise was conducted from April 6 to April 10, 2026, covering three counties: Grand Bassa, Montserrado, and Margibi. The exercise was carried out with representation from MEAL and Program.

Today, Community Empowerment for Change (CEC) began its Monthly Review and Guidance Engagement with the ASPIRE communities in District #2, Grand Bassa County.
These meetings serve as an eye-opener for the ASPIRE communities, encouraging members of the Community Savings and Loan Associations (CSLAs) to work together in clusters based on proximity. Through collaboration, members are able to strengthen their groups, share experiences, and support one another in building stronger and more resilient communities.
During the presentation, the Executive Director, Mr. James Otto, stressed the need for and importance of cooperative farming and collective community efforts. He highlighted that working together helps to:
• Increase opportunities
• Promote community growth
• Reduce poverty
CEC remains committed to strengthening community structures and supporting local initiatives that empower people to improve their livelihoods.
