KACPAW works towards rabies eradication through humanely controlling dog populations as against killing of dogs. Hence, we place dog sterilizations a priority in our work. Since 1998 we have sterilized on an avaerage around 1,000 dogs per year. We offer free sterilizations to any dog/cat owner and conduct regular spay clinics at which we sterilize community and ownerless dogs as well. Without support this work will have to end. This pup, a male pup, has about 3 of these vegetable shop guys caring for him. He sleeps in a parked tuk. Several other guys too care for him.
They have treated a wound he got when he met with an accident. Now they want me to cure his lame back leg. So I massaged his leg with Ayurvedic oil.
I will have him neutered and vaccinated.
Today I de-wormed him and medicated him for a bit of mange.

We were unable to catch her when we went to Norochcholei to carry out spay clinics at Lak Vijaya Power Plant complex and Daluwa and Karamba complexes.
She has a bad TVT and if unattended, the growth will soon get maggot infested and life threatening.
Plus I wanted to get her cured and spayed before she came into heat, which means another 20 or more dogs will get infected.
So I went yesterday back to Norochcholei to bring her to Kandy and after a gruelling 4 + hours in the sweltering heat, she was finally caught and sedated and loaded into theTuk and brought to Kandy. All this from 7 am to 7pm!!
She was warded at the Getambe government vet hospital and today she was given the first vincristine dose. She will remain there and will be given her second dose of vincristine and spayed and vaccinateg by the hospital.
She will be fully cured. A few days after spaying we will take her back to Norochcholei CEB.
I need help please to recover the costs of the entire mission which will be close to 70,000/-, but every cent spent on her is worth it. 🎗️
I seldom ask for help for such cases. But given the distance and costs involved owing to the distance and ensuing arrangements, they are quite high.
So please help. 🙏🙏🙏🐕🩷🩷
