Lions Centintinal Vocational Training Centre in Biyagama is excited to announce that we will be commencing operations soon. We are looking for dedicated and passionate individuals to join our team as volunteers to help make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people.

We are seeking English-speaking volunteers, including retired individuals and young professionals, who are willing to contribute their time and skills.

About the Centre: Our centre is designed to provide vocational training and soft skills development to disabled youth and other young individuals, preparing them for the workforce in both local and international markets. The centre focuses on equipping youth with in-demand skills, empowering them to achieve successful careers.

Volunteer Requirements:

English-speaking individuals (retired seniors or young professionals are welcome)
Preferably with experience in administration or vocational training
Knowledge of IT is essential
A passion for teaching and helping young people succeed

A memorandum of understanding was signed on 06.02.2023 between the National Apprenticeship and Industrial Training Authority (NITA and Lions Centennial Vocational Training Center (LCVTC) District 306 B2.

The purpose of this MOU is to provide vocational training to people who are looking for affordable educational options after school or for career growth purposes. LCVTC becomes one of the very few vocational training centers that provide its services to disabled youth along with people who are employed by giving priority to multiple sectors that has an elevated job demand with the aid of soft skill development, IT and computer skills development, computer hardware skills development etc.

Naita Institute provides training facilities and technical support for these training courses and Naita Institute will also work to maintain LCVTC as a competent training center for the factories in the Board of Investment (BOI) Zone with prioritised job oppurtunities to graduates and pass outs from LCVTC. Furthermore, Naita Institute also hopes to provide NVQ certification for the personnel studying the courses in association with TVEC Institute.

This occasion was graced by District Governor Lion Gretien Fernando, International Director PCC Mahesh Pasqual, Board Members LCVTC Secretary Lion Lekha Korale , Treasure Lion Aubrey Peiris Head of Technical committee Lion Ajith Korale and Lion Ajantha Gunathilaka.

The chairman of the authority, Mr. Ruchika Amarasekara, Vice-chairman, Director General and other directors, also participated for this momentous signing.

Thank you HE for your great support and Cooperation towards the construction of LIONS CENTENNIAL VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTER(LCVTC) ,BIYAGAMA of Lions District 306 B2.

LCVTC Site was visited on 5th January 2023 by Higher officials from Ministry of finance, Divisional Secretary, Director BOI, and this is regarding the 20Milion grant Allocation process towards the the construction of LCVTC as directed by HE .

First Donation from late Chater President of L/C of Biyagama Lion Sunil Gunasekera's family for the " proposed Lion Sunil Gunasekera Conference Hall", GF of Lions Centennial Vocational Training Center (LCVTC) -Biyagama District 306B2.

Had a very successful meeting with Chairman of NITA regarding our Lions Centennial vocational Training Cenntre (LCVTC) -District 306B2. On 7th September 2022.
