No Names. No Truth!
Ms. Radika Madiwaka has raised serious concerns regarding the ongoing silence surrounding the NDB bank scandal.
“Why are no names being released? Who is being protected?” she questioned.
She further raised a troubling point — whether there is a deliberate hesitation within the media to fully investigate and expose the truth.
Drawing a parallel, Ms. Madiwaka stated that there are eerie similarities between this situation and the handling of the Dinesh Schaffter murder case, where unanswered questions and delayed clarity left the public in doubt.
“The public deserves transparency. Silence only deepens suspicion,” she added.
TROW will continue to follow this matter closely.
Because the truth is not always what it seems.

STATEMENT BY MS. RADIKA MADIWAKA | TROW
“What we are witnessing is not just a question of fraud—it is a question of how far the system can be stretched without accountability.
If bank systems allowed values to be created… or even masked, then this goes beyond theft. It raises serious concerns about the integrity of our financial institutions.
The public deserves clarity.
Was money simply moved… or was something far more complex allowed to happen within the system?
At TROW, we are committed to uncovering the truth—no matter where it leads.”

At the International Centre for Women’s Studies, Ms. Radika Madiwaka raised a powerful and uncomfortable question about Sri Lanka’s political past.
Why was Vimala Wijewardena—one of the country’s earliest female cabinet ministers—not given the opportunity to become the nation’s first female Prime Minister?
Instead, history took a different turn with the appointment of Sirimavo Bandaranaike following the assassination of S. W. R. D. Bandaranaike.
Ms. Madiwaka did not dismiss the historic significance of that moment—but she challenged the narrative behind it.
Were these decisions truly based on merit… or shaped by political necessity?
And more importantly — are women, at times, positioned within male-driven political systems as instruments of broader agendas rather than independent leaders?
Her remarks call for a deeper reflection on how leadership is constructed, remembered, and justified.
History, she suggests, is not always what it seems.

Questions That Still Demand Answers.
Ms. Radika Madiwaka has raised a critical point regarding the Thajudeen case:
How did a vehicle travel at such high speed on a narrow, winding road… only to end in a fatal crash against a wall?
Who was driving the car?
Who controlled it until it reached that speed?
And most importantly — how did the driver walk away?
These are not small inconsistencies. These are questions that go to the very heart of the truth.
Radika Madiwaka states with confidence:
“There is a driver. And I can find him.”
The investigation continues.

Madiwaka Urges Caution in International Messaging at Global Forum
At a recently held global forum in Dubai, Ms. Radika Madiwaka, Executive Director of TROW, cautioned Sri Lankan political figure Namal Rajapaksa regarding the implications of referencing former U.S. President Donald Trump in public discourse.
Speaking during a panel discussion, Ms. Madiwaka emphasized that such statements, if not carefully framed, could create unnecessary diplomatic friction between Sri Lanka and its international partners. She noted the importance of measured communication, particularly in forums where global media and foreign policy stakeholders are closely engaged.
Ms. Madiwaka further remarked that navigating questions from seasoned international journalists requires a high level of preparedness, suggesting that premature engagement in such spaces may lead to misinterpretation or unintended consequences.
In a related development, Ms. Madiwaka revealed that her team is currently working to secure a meeting with Julie Chung, former United States Ambassador to Sri Lanka. The initiative is reportedly aimed at re-establishing professional ties and exploring avenues for renewed cooperation.
Ms. Madiwaka is presently on an international outreach tour, engaging with institutions and agencies to seek support and collaboration for several locally grounded investigations undertaken by her organization. According to sources, these efforts are part of a broader strategy to bring increased global attention and expertise to matters of public interest in Sri Lanka.
Further updates are expected as her engagements progress.

Call for Transparency on Iranian Warship Incident
Ms. Radika Madiwaka, Executive Director of TROW, has formally requested that the President of Sri Lanka authorize the release of any available transcripts or recorded communications relating to the final exchanges involving the Iranian naval vessel that was recently destroyed in the Indian Ocean.
The request follows the sinking of the Iranian frigate IRIS Dena on 4 March 2026, approximately 19 nautical miles off the southern coast of Sri Lanka near Galle. According to international reports, the vessel was struck by a torpedo fired from a United States Navy submarine during the ongoing escalation involving Iran and a U.S.–Israeli coalition. The attack resulted in the deaths of at least 87 sailors, while Sri Lanka’s Navy rescued 32 survivors and recovered bodies from the surrounding waters.
The Iranian warship had recently participated in the MILAN multinational naval exercise in India before beginning its return voyage to Iran when the incident occurred in international waters within Sri Lanka’s exclusive economic zone.
Ms. Madiwaka has stated that, given Sri Lanka’s proximity to the event and the involvement of its Navy in the subsequent rescue operations, it is reasonable to believe that maritime communications, distress signals, or operational exchanges may have been recorded by relevant authorities. She has therefore urged the government to release any transcripts or official records of communications related to the incident in the interest of transparency and public understanding.
“Events of this magnitude occurring so close to our shores inevitably raise questions,” Ms. Madiwaka noted. “If communication transcripts exist between the vessel, maritime coordination centres, or regional authorities, releasing them would contribute meaningfully to historical accuracy and accountability.”
TROW has indicated that its interest lies in ensuring that the public record surrounding the incident is complete and accessible, particularly given the broader geopolitical implications of the event in the Indian Ocean region.
Further developments are expected pending a response from the President’s Office.

Ms. Radika Madiwaka, Executive Director of TROW, has formally petitioned the Supreme Court seeking judicial authorization on the 28th of February to access secured archival records maintained at the Sri Lanka National Archives.
The request pertains to a defined list of concluded criminal proceedings which, upon independent preliminary review, raise concerns regarding procedural integrity and the fidelity of their resolution. Ms. Madiwaka’s position is not to allege wrongdoing, but to seek lawful access to historical case materials in order to conduct a structured and evidence-based review.
Access to the relevant archival documentation was previously requested through the appropriate administrative channels. However, assistance was declined, citing restrictions relating to secured records.
As a result, Ms. Madiwaka has now sought the intervention of the Supreme Court to determine whether, in the interest of transparency, public confidence in the administration of justice, and the rule of law, limited and supervised access may be granted for investigative purposes.
She currently awaits the Court’s determination.
This matter represents a broader principle: that justice must not only be done, but must be capable of being examined.
Further updates will follow pending judicial direction.
