COMPOUND MOVEMENTS
Compound exercises are those that work a large number of body-parts in the one movement. Even though they have a prime mover, the rest of the body acts as synergists and stabilizers to enable completion of the exercise. Squats, deadlifts, bench presses, bent over rowing and pull ups are all examples of compound exercises.
