இலங்கை, சிற்றின்ப சுற்றுலாவிற்கு மிகவும் பாதுகாப்பான நாடாகக் கருதப்படுகிறது. பெண்கள் தனியாக சுற்றுலா செல்லும் போது, உலகின் முதலாவது பாதுகாப்பான நாடாக இலங்கை தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது. இது அனைத்து இலங்கையர்களுக்கும் பெருமைக்குரிய செய்தியாகும். இந்த பட்டியலில் இரண்டாவது இடத்தை பெல்ஜியம் பிடித்துள்ளது.

It is very true that people are facing numerous problems. We are still not out of the crisis created by the former government. Within two years, the country went bankrupt and regressed by 20 years. We experienced total blackouts, shortages of all essentials, no petrol, no gas, no tourism, and no foreign reserves. There was no indication of what would happen next.

Again, these people took to the streets holding boards with , striking and burning government properties, killing ministers, and burning houses. The economy crashed like never before. I believe people will never make this mistake again. Simply trying someone new for one time and giving them only one chance can have devastating consequences. Your vote will decide the future of the younger generation of this country, not just your own.

அடுத்த தேர்தலில், மக்கள் ஜனாதிபதியை மட்டும் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கவில்லை; தற்போதைய நிர்வாகத்தால் பிரதிநிதித்துவப்படுத்தப்படும் தற்போதைய சூழ்நிலையில் நாட்டிற்குத் தேவையான கொள்கைகள் மற்றும் உண்மையான தலைவர் பொருளாதாரத்தை மறு சீர் அமைக்க தேர்ந்தெடுக்கிறார்கள்.

மக்கள் பல்வேறு பிரச்சினைகளை எதிர்கொள்கின்றனர் என்பது மிகவும் உண்மை. முன்னாள் அரசாங்கம் ஏற்படுத்திய நெருக்கடியிலிருந்து நாம் இன்னும் மீளவில்லை. சுமார் 7.9 மில்லியன் அப்பாவி மக்கள் கோட்டாபயவுக்கு ஒரு வாய்ப்பை வழங்கினர், ஒரு புதிய அரசியல் அல்லாத முகம் மாற்றத்தை கொண்டு வரலாம் என்று நினைத்தனர். சோசியல் மீடியா மற்றும் சமூக ஊடகங்களில் பிரச்சாரம் செய்யப்படும் பொய்யான வாக்குறுதிகளை அவர்கள் நம்பினர். இரண்டே ஆண்டுகளில், நாடு திவாலாகி, 20 ஆண்டுகள் பின்வாங்கியது. மொத்த மின்தடை, அனைத்து அத்தியாவசியப் பொருட்கள் தட்டுப்பாடு, பெட்ரோல், எரிவாயு, சுற்றுலா, வெளிநாட்டு இருப்பு எதுவும் பூஜ்ஜியமானது. அடுத்து என்ன நடக்கும் என்பதற்கான எந்த அறிகுறியும் இல்லை.

மீண்டும், இந்த மக்கள் என்ற பலகைகளை ஏந்தியபடி வீதியில் இறங்கி, வேலைநிறுத்தம் செய்து அரசு சொத்துக்களை சேதுப்படுத்தி, அரசியல்வாதிகளை கொன்றனர், வீடுகளை எரித்தனர். முன்னெப்போதும் இல்லாத வகையில் பொருளாதாரம் சரிந்தது. மக்கள் இந்த தவறை மீண்டும் செய்ய மாட்டார்கள் என்று நான் நம்புகிறேன். புதிதாக ஒருவரை ஒரு முறை முயற்சித்து, அவர்களுக்கு ஒரே ஒரு வாய்ப்பை வழங்குவது பேரழிவு விளைவுகளை ஏற்படுத்தும். உங்கள் வாக்கு இந்த நாட்டின் இளைய தலைமுறையின் எதிர்காலத்தை தீர்மானிக்கும், உங்களுடையது மட்டுமல்ல.
