Art has saved us more often than we realise.
I turn to poetry only in two instances:
One when an emotion too strong gets hold of me.
The other when I wish to pour but also conceal.

Not all women dream of a career. Some want to choose a simple life and be there for their family.
But life has different plans for everyone. Some women are forced to take up jobs, turn a hobby into an income, or tackle finances just to keep the children fed, bills paid and family running smoothly.
She is forced into the role of both the provider and caregiver, walking in two pairs of shoes at once.
Society doesn’t stop even once to ask if this is what she wanted. Instead, it’s quick to judge and label her as disobedient, dominant and what-not just because she realised what the husband gives for family expenses doesn’t match the economic reality. She is blamed for not living beneath her means when the truth is she never tried to earn for herself but for her family’s needs.
Look around. Ask the right questions. Don’t judge without knowing the full story.
Not all women have a support system. Sometimes, she’s the whole system everyone leans on.

A few gentle truths you don’t want to hear!
Who am I to tell you what you should or shouldn’t be doing on Valentine’s Day?
But if I’m your friend, your sister or a well-wisher and I see you getting disappointed, feeling sad or spending your money only to regret it the next day, then I might say these to you.
Yet, no matter what, cheers to love that doesn’t wait for February ❤️

Today, on a whim, I packed my notebooks and headed to the .lk to overcome my creative block.
This trick always works for me:
1. Open a new page/document
2. Write a chapter — halfway or fully
3. Rewrite a better version on the final document
Sometimes, all you need is a fresh take to let the creativity flow. ✨ And being surrounded by books help a lot 😃

Change is the only constant. I feel like I’m entering version 3.0 now 😄
As perspectives shift in my mind, the decisions I make and the actions that align are naturally going to follow. I hope this new direction takes me somewhere good. And with that, what I write and share is also likely to change. I hope you find value in them too.
Do you feel these sort of shifts within you too?

Nobody, not a single soul, tells you this… The days dissolve into nights, the nights merges into sameness. And they all turn into months and years. But they also become someone’s childhood. The kind of childhood you get to design. It’s a precious responsibility.
As a mother or father, you’re always going to feel grateful for your children but also often overwhelmed.
I can’t wrap my head around how one year went by. I’ve hardly had time to glance at the calendar and my baby girl is already one. Alhamdulillah. Allahumma Barik Laha. 🥰💕
You often have to fight. Not with mosquitoes, air-bone illnesses, bugs or opinions. But with yourself. Fight with your sleep, hunger, exhaustion, self-doubt, worry and incompetence just so that you can give better for your baby.
This phase is teaching me so much, especially about myself. I’m trying and still trying to do better. ✨💕

Dear Sang Yan,
If only love stories were this patient. If only love stories were this compassionate, this kind.
Your love feels like an apology letter for everything Wen Yifan went through in life. You’ve always been her Sun, the only one worth its dazzle. No wonder she saw your light, even when stress made her sleepwalk. You were her friend, lover and family — the only soul that deserved her heart.
If you’re the coolness of winter, she is the kindness of spring, and together you create a love that radiates the enchantment of all seasons.
You make loving one person for so long seem easy, whether Wen Yifan was with you or not. You walked with her through life, even when she didn’t see you. You make loving her feel like the only thing you were created for, everything else secondary.
Sang Yan, you make people who lose faith in love stories believe again. You make them talk about souls and love and magic once more.
Your love is a reminder that love can heal and it never asks for anything, except to stay. Your love is a reminder that love doesn’t have to bloom once again. It lies there dormant, until she arrives again. Because from one city to another, one decade to another, it’s always been her. And time had no will to replace her name.
Every girl would be lucky to be born a Wen Yifan, despite what she had to endure, if the prize is your kind of love. Wholesome, chivalrous and softer than a baby’s smile. A slow love in a world that runs after the next dopamine kick; a dew drop on the parched sands of a desert. A love so beautiful it breaks your heart with its intensity and patches it back together a hundred times gentler.

Let’s give people the benefit of the doubt. Let’s believe in their good intentions while making informed choices about whom we entrust our donations to. It’s our responsibility to decide which charitable organisation or individual to support, without donating blindly.
At the same time, it’s likely to help people far more if we focus on doing something rather than finding faults.
It’s not easy to do what donors, volunteers, charities and creators have been doing around the clock. Even if you set aside their work and personal lives for a moment, think about the physical and emotional toll it takes — dealing with non-stop requests, listening to heartbreaking stories, answering endless calls, organising, packing, distributing… Most people would panic if they had to take this on, yet these individuals rose to the occasion. They did the best they could, risking so much.
Let’s support these beautiful efforts. If we can’t or simply don’t want to, that’s fine. But let’s at least not be a hindrance. ✨

Please don’t stop donating and helping because the number of people affected is not small. Your help will be required in phases, from survival with essentials and medication to clothing and school supplies to rebuilding. It will take awhile. Let’s stick around and help each other in every way possible.

It doesn’t matter how much you can give or to whom you give. What matters is whether it’s reaching the people who need it. ✨

If it won’t matter in 11 months, skip it this 11.11.
Your long-term well-being is far more important than the short-term dopamine.
You don’t need more things.
You need better investments — in your comfort, your skills, your health and your peace.
The sale ends soon. But the returns on wisdom last forever.
