It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of James Srinivasan, a beloved record producer and proprietor of Lotus Entertainment. James Srinivasan, aged 80, breathed his last, leaving behind a void in the music industry.

James Srinivasan was known for his remarkable contributions to the field of music and entertainment. His expertise and dedication made a significant impact on the industry, and his loss will be deeply felt by all who knew him.

We regret to inform you that Tony Hassan, a renowned Sri Lankan singer, has passed away at the age of 73. It is with deep sadness that we share the news of his demise. Tony Hassan had been battling an illness and unfortunately succumbed to it while undergoing treatment.

The family has confirmed that the funeral proceedings will take place at the Maligawatte Muslim Burial ground this evening (17 May).

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Tony Hassan's family and friends during this difficult time. May his soul rest in peace.

Rajitha was a highly valued member of both companies and played a critical role in their growth and success. He was widely respected for his expertise and leadership skills and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of working with him.

Prior to joining BoardPAC and IronOne Technologies, Rajitha had more than 15 years of experience in the technology industry, where he held various leadership roles at leading technology companies. He was known for his strategic thinking, business acumen, and ability to build high-performing teams.

පාසල් සිසුවියක ලෙස රංගනයට පිවිසි ලියෝනි කොතලාවල පසුව වේදිකා නාට්‍ය, ටෙලිනාට්‍ය, සිනමා ශාලාවල බැබළෙන විට ඇයගේ වයස අවුරුදු 17 කි.

ඇය 1966 විශ්වවිද්‍යාල සම්මාන උළෙලේදී හොඳම නිළිය ලෙස නිර්දේශ වූ අතර 1988 වසරේ OCIC සම්මාන උළෙලේදී හොඳම නිළියට හිමි සම්මානය දිනා ගත්තාය.

මිය යන විට 78 වැනි වියේ පසු වූ ඇය කලක සිට රෝගාතුරව සිටියාය.

Deshamanaya Mineka Wickramasinghe At the age of 87, the founder and President Emeritus of the Ceylon Biscuits Limited (CBL) Group has passed away.
In 2015, he retired from his post as Chairman of the CBL Group after over 48 years at the helm of the organisation he founded in 1968.

In 1967, Deshamanya Mineka Wickramasingha created a protein-enriched children's biscuit that became a statewide program with the Ministry of Education to reduce malnutrition in students. This marked the beginning of the CBL story.

The Sri Lankan government granted him the Deshamanya title, which is the second-highest national civil distinction, for his service to the country.

Meryl Fernando, the singer and a pioneer in group song culture in Sri Lanka, passed away on 19th May 2022.

The 'Fernando Trio' is the first band in Sri Lanka to be formed around 1958.

Its founding members were Neville Fernando, Bernadine Fernando and Meryl Fernando.

Prof. M.R.T. Furkhan – (March 18 1935 – May 9, 2022) was a business leader and a pioneer of tourism.He was appointed the 1st President of CIMA. He was also the Founder and Chairman of the Confifi Group of Hotel Companies and its subsidiaries.

He was also President of the Rotary Club of Colombo North, Chairman of the Tourist Hotels Association, President of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and Chairman, of the Board of Governors of Zahira College. For his exemplary public service, Mr.Furkhan was awarded the National Honour Titles of Deshabandu (1987) and Deshamanya ( 2005).

On May 9, 2022, he passed away at the age of 87. May his soul rest in peace!
