The BALADI Plus Program is a USAID-funded program that aims to help municipalities facilitate the implementation of local development projects, and allow them to better manage their resources through close collaboration with USAID/Lebanon's BALADI Program BALADI Plus offers technical assistance to municipalities that have been selected for awards by BALADI, have submitted promising proposals or otherwise expressed an interest in improving governance and economic opportunity for citizens. BALADI Plus aims to:
(1) Improve or put in place financial, administrative, and regulatory systems that promote transparency and effective governance at the local level;
(2) Promote accountability and participatory governance by engaging civil society organizations (CSOs) and local stakeholders into local development projects centered on citizens’ needs.
