Elon Musk unveiled the new logo for Twitter; however, potential trademark challenges could arise π―
β’οΈ Trademarks function as distinct identifiers of origin, establishing a connection between customers and a company. Twitter's well-known bird emblem has served this purpose effectively, representing the social media platform.
To qualify for trademark registration with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, a logo must possess uniqueness and distinctiveness.
Meta's trademarked "X" logo, as presented in their filings, notably differs from the one Elon Musk showcased on Twitter's official website. Meta's "X" comprises two rounded-ended arrows converging inward β one white and one blue. Conversely, Twitter's version of the "X" is angular, depicted in black and white.
However, a potential challenge lies ahead for Twitter, particularly if they intend to utilize their "X" logo for social networking purposes resembling those of Meta.
