Few days ago I was introducing you the concept of Samasthiti, a neutral position from which one can move to any other yogasana very easily.
I consider 4 different Samasthiti in my Hatha Yoga practice which all help me build a proper sequence.
*Tadasana* - or "Palm Tree Pose" in English- is the first one. It is the starting point of all standing yogasana.
π§Do you know it?
π΄Have you ever felt how rooting that posture was?
Β

Namaste dear Sadhaka of the WorldππΎππΈ,
Today I would like to introduce you the concept of β SAMASTHITI β
π€ Have you ever heard of it?
π In sanskrit, two of the many available translations of *Sthiti* would be "state" or "position" while *Sama* could be translated as "quiet, rest, equal or even".
π In other words, Samasthiti is a neutral position which could be the starting position of every yogasana. From Samasthiti, one can move to any other yogasana very easily~

Namaste dear Sadhaka of the World
ππΎπ,
β― What about picking up where we left off?
π§ Reminder: In the last publications I was trying to describe for you the 8 limbs of Ashtanga Yoga and more precisely the first of the 5 bahirang (outer limbs) yoga called "YAMA"( β moral values and duties towards Society a sadhaka should follow and described in Patanjali Yoga Sutra)
π§ So, today, let's focus on the fourth "YAMA" : BRAHMACHARYA (πPYS, 2:30)
πΉ"BRAHMACHARYA" often is translated as "celibacy" or "chastity" which doesn't make it very popular in our moder western societyπ
.
βHowever, it stems from 2 Sanskrit roots: "Brahma" meaning "One's own Self" and "Charya" which could be translated as "mode of behaviour" or "conduct".
βWhat does that mean?!
π‘ The practice of this yama actually encourages the Yoga sadhaka to save energy used for external desires of all sorts (including sexual ones) in order to redirect it to futher progress along theΒ Yogic path (eventually leading to union between the Own Self with the Supreme Self).
βHow can we consider Brahmacharya in our daily life?
π We could simply start by slowing down...
Trying to do a little less but putting more focus on what we are engaged in.
Being more aware of how we use our energy and for what.
And let's observe the consequences on our body & mind.
π«
I wish you all a moderate day π.
Β

Namaste dear sadhaka of the World

Morning Yoga with a view π§π»ββοΈπ
Namaste to all my sadhaka friends around the WorldππΎπ

Namaste dear sadhaka of the World ππ
π§ Today, let s talk about the third "YAMA" (moral values and duties towards society described in Patanjali Yoga Sutra) : ASTEYA.
πΉ ASTEYA literally means "non-stealing".
More deeply, it means abandoning the very intent or desire to possess or steal anythingβwhether it is material, a talent, a relationship, a gift, achievement, success, time, or natural resourcesβthat primarily does not belong to you, through force or deceit or exploitation, by deeds or words or thoughts.
A sense of lack, powerlessness, and comparing ourselves to others could be some of the reasons why we might act in this way. When we address and eliminate the roots of the problem, the virtue of asteya becomes established in us.
π Asteya is mentioned throughout many Indian texts, including the Sutras, the Mahabarata (which the Bhagavad Gita is part of), the Upanishads and the Vedas.
π Patanjali has stated the results of Asteya as follows: " Once nin-stealing has been permanently established, all jewels and inner richness will be available." (PYS, 2:37)
Let's try to implement this powerful Yama in our daily Life and discover how deep it impacts our peace of mind.
π«
I wish you all a bright and peaceful day.
π§ββοΈπ»π

Namaste dear sadhaka of the World ππ
π§ Today, let s talk about the second "YAMA" (moral values and duties towards society described in Patanjali Yoga Sutra) which is SATYA.
β SATYA means "truthfulness"- truth in words, thoughts and actions.
~When we deliver something to others, if the conversation generates doubt or if it is of no use to others, then that is not truth.
π "Silence is greater than the speech, true speech is greater than the silence, speech as per one's dharma is the one which is pleasurable and useful to others and is the greatest." Mahabharata
π Patanjali has stated the results of the truth as follow: " Once the truth has been permanently established in a yogi, positive results follow." (PYS, 2:36)
π«
I wish you all a wonderful and bright day, hopefully in a place where you can enjoy Nature

Do you remember "The 8 limbs yoga"?
π§ Today, let s have a deeper look into the first of the 5 bahirang yoga called "YAMA", describing 5 different moral values and duties towards Society a sadhaka should follow.
πThe first Yama described in Patanjali Yoga Sutra is AHIMSA which means "Non violence"- by acting, speaking and thinking.
πΉ Let s try to think about how to introduce this Yama in our daily life and observe the changes happening within and around us π
π« π§π»ββοΈπ§π»ββοΈ
I wish you all a wonderful day wherever you are on this beautiful planet πππ

π‘Did you know Ashtanga Yoga means litteraly "8 limbs yoga"?
In *Patanjali Yoga Sutra*π,
major source of Hatha Yoga philosophy, are described the 5 Bahirang yoga (outer limbs) and 3 Antarang yoga (inner limbs) of the eightfold Path.
π§ Let s have a look at each one of them in details soon!

Namaste dear sadhakaππΈ
Today I would like to share with you one of the most important points I learnt during my 200H TTC.
The first of the 5 pre requirements each sadhaka (Yoga practitioner) should have in order to thrive on Yoga Path:
β Anushasanamβ
"Anushasanam" means "discipline" in Sanskrit...
Try as much as you can to practice every day.
Try as much as you can to be consistent and dedicated.
And you will feel the benefits throughout time on your body & mind.
And on your SoulπΈ
~~~~~~~~~
"Savasana is being without was, being without will be. It is being without anyone who is."
"The body and the mind are interdependent. They are inseparable in the art of introspection. Although this asana appears simple, it is most difficult to master"
B.K.S. Iyengar
β Funny fact β
βDo you know what is the exact meaning of the sanskrit word "asana" and its difference with "yogasana"π€?
βͺ Although Hatha Yoga encompasses many theoretical and practical aspects, many of us first discovered it through the physical practice of yoga poses, *yogasana* in sanskrit.
*Asana* literally means the 'place where you seat'. It therefore describes, nowaday, the yoga mat!
γ Both terms are now very oftenly confused.
*(Yoga)sana* is the third limb in the Eight Limbs of Yoga described in Patanjaliβs βYoga Sutrasβ in which the only definition given is
{sthira sukham asanam}.
βSthiraβ means steady or stable or grounded or strong and βSukhaβ means comfortable or easy or peaceful.
Thus, whenever you practise yoga youβre trying to find that point of balance in which you [feel happy and steady in the position] βΊ
All levels very welcome!
Come and share the experience of Yoga Path...Let s start the journey to Self Love πππ
*Pranayama* literally means [balancing the *prana* -Life Force energy- in the body] and more specifically (but not only) in the 3 main energy canals we call *Nadi* : Pingala (The chandra/moonπ- or left nadi), Ida (the Surya/Sunπ- or right nadi) and Sushumna (neutral/central nadi).
In Hatha Yoga, we mainly use the Swara (breath air flow)π¬ to balance the Prana.
~Together, we can learn how to practice different pranayama technics (with respect of contraindications) and understand what their benefits areπΈ~
In Hatha Yoga, most of the postures (yogasana) combine stretching and strenghening of musculoskeletal structures in the respect of the anatomical limits of each body.
~With a proper supervision, Hatha Yoga will help you to keep your muscles, tendons, fascias, ligaments and joints healthy πͺ.~
NAMASTE beautiful Souls and welcome on Nomad Yoga page, a space where I will be happy to share about Hatha Yoga, its history and practice.
Yoga came to me more than 10 years ago and it has never given up on me. I am now very delighted to be able to share this beautiful and holostic pratice with you all in Yoga Sadhana studio, as it brought and is still bringing so much in my life.
π΅ The gesture of folding hands during a Namaste is called the *AΓ±jali MudrΔ*.
The *AΓ±jali MudrΔ* differs from Namaste by being a non-verbal gesture, while Namaste can be said with or without any gesture.
According to Bhaumik and Govil, the Anjali mudra and Namaskara mudra are very similar but have a subtle difference. The back of the thumbs in Anjali mudra face the chest and are perpendicular to other fingers, while the thumbs in Namaskara mudra are aligned with the other fingers.π΅
NAMASTE is a customary, non-contact form of Indian greeting, usually spoken with a slight bow and hands in *aΓ±jali mudrΔ*; the standing posture incorporating it is *pranamasana*.
More than just a simple greeting, Namaste conceals a deeper meaning, related to *atman*, the divine light within each and everyone of us.
One of the most common translation found for *Namaste* is:
"The divine light in me bows to the divine light within you."
πΈπΈπΈ
~Namaste~
"I honor the place in you where the entire universe dwells.
I bow to the place in you that is love, light, and joy.
When you and I bow to our true nature, we are one.
My soul recognizes your soul.
We are the same, we are one.
I honor the place in you that is the same as it is in me."
