Al Shabaab militants were reported to have executed a combined 10 people accused of spying for western intelligence agencies on 28 June in the towns of Jilib (the group's de facto capital) in Middle Shabelle and Bulo Fulay in Bay. This came a day after the group executed 6 suspected "spies" in Saakow in Middle Jubba, and a day after Puntland carried out the ex*****on of 21 AS members in Galkayo, Garowe, and Qardho. AS sporadically carries out ex*****ons in its territory, most commonly in Middle Jubba, the only region of the country the group completely controls. The group in the past has been accused of targeting innocent civilins in these incidents, and has also occassionally used them to carry out internal purges. It is likely not a coincidence this ex*****on comes a day after the Puntland ex*****ons - which were reported to be the largest single ex*****on of militants by the federal government or regional states. AS may carry out other attacks or ex*****ons in the near future to attempt to avenge the Puntland Executions. *****on

Having two or more authentication steps makes it harder for an attacker to breach your account. Authentication just means how you prove that you are you. Multi-factor can be made up of something you have, something you are, something you know…like having an ATM card and knowing a PIN. Something you are includes biometrics, like your fingerprint, or an iris scan.
If someone knows your password, but doesn’t have access to a code texted to your phone, you are protected
Enable multi-factor authentication on every account (social media, email, etc.) but especially on financial accounts. If you’re using a bank that doesn’t offer MFA, consider switching banks!

Pay attention to permissions you’re granting when you install or use apps. Slow down and read the fine print. Do they really need to know your location, or have access to our photos or contacts?

Dont accept friend requests from people you do not know in real life. Some people try to engage you in an attempt to defraud you.
