I grew up learning needle work from my mum and grandmother. My love remain in hand quilting, hand appliqué and embroidery.
Started quilting much later in life, adapted all styles of quilting and now an Accredited Quilt Teacher from South Africa.

Every month after the general meeting, our education incharge Rohini teaches the basic principles of quilting without any charges. Guests/ visitors go home with a small coaster made all by themselves.

General meeting February 2026.
With lots of beautiful quilts to see, the meeting was absolute joy to attend. Temperature quilts by Charlotte and Bunty were the same concept yet so different. There was a taste of most of the quilt techniques. Amber showed the members lovely quilts curated from Pakistan made in the deserts of Thar.

February 2026, Hina took us through the wonderful journey of making a Kawandi quilt.
Traditional Kawandi is a beautiful Indian quilting style! It Originated in Gujarat, India by the African Siddis. A beautiful Technique using old fabric scraps and Simple running stitches. You can also use any decorative stitches. It’s a very functional quilts for everyday use

Join us this coming Saturday, 7th February 10.00 a.m. in the Clubhouse on the 10th floor of TradeMark Hotel. Sheryl will be giving a talk on QUILT BORDERS. Please bring along any wallhangings and quilts with interesting borders that you can share.
At KQG we love to teach all ages and levels. It’s always a good idea to start with a small, simple project so that the child can get the hang of that skill quickly.
