Yesterday, the Ubongo Wetu Project hosted a successful webinar focusing on youth mental health advocacy, attended by 32 participants, Young leaders and mental health advocates.The session aimed to empower young leaders and professionals to redefine mental health narratives and combat stigma.
Key speakers included Silvia Ntamwinja, Founder of Lumiere Nebo Dunia, who highlighted the challenges youth face regarding mental health, and Maryanne Rop, a Counseling Psychologist, who provided valuable coping strategies. Participants engaged in an inclusive dialogue, sharing experiences and insights that fostered community support.
The webinar concluded with remarks from Marvin, who acknowledged the contributions of fellow organization founders and heads from partner organizations, including , Relief Africa, , . Participants left feeling inspired and equipped to advocate for mental wellness in their communities.
This event reinforced the importance of collaboration in promoting mental health awareness and resilience among youth.
