I recently helped a new client who had lost the password to their Dahua DVR. The client had lost their password, and the usual routes weren't working. Even though I wasn’t the original installer, they saw my work and reached out for a fix.
My Professional Process:
Troubleshooting steps I followed :
1. System Audit: First, I confirmed all cameras were online. When taking over someone else's install, you always check the foundation first.
2. Software Check: Used the official DMSS protocol to securely bypass the forgotten password and restore access, to no luck.
3. Dahua Technology support Kenya: Consulted Dahua Kenya for an encryption string reset,tried well still blocked.
4. Hardware Intervention: I took the last resort. I opened the DVR casing, located the J1 terminals on the motherboard, and performed a manual jumper reset.
5. The Result: System successfully factory reset, access restored, and the client’s shop is secure once again.
