A major milestone for Kenyan football The President William Samoei Ruto Cup, a nationwide tournament bringing together teams from all 47 counties, will officially be launched.
Organized by the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) in partnership with key government ministries, this historic competition aims to nurture talent, promote unity, and elevate grassroots football across the nation.
With an initial budget of KSh 2 billion currently under review, the focus remains on prudent resource use and maximum impact for players and fans alike.

Ethiopia has officially launched its pan-African media platform, Pulse of Africa (POA), in Addis Ababa.
Speaking at the launch, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed stated that the platform was created to counter negative portrayals of Africa and to ensure Africans take ownership in shaping and telling their own narratives.

Kenya is the only African country selected to host the 2026 Amateur Radio on the International Space Station (ARISS) program, a prestigious global initiative that will allow Kenyans to communicate live with astronauts aboard the International Space Station through amateur radio. Announced by the Kenya Space Agency (KSA) on January 23, the program is part of an international education and outreach effort aimed at promoting STEM learning, space science, and innovation by connecting students and communities with astronauts in orbit. Kenya’s selection places it among a small group of countries worldwide trusted to host these highly coordinated space-to-ground communication sessions.
