Today we are privileged to attend a meeting hosted by PARAAN alliance to launch the strategic plan 2023-2026
Today, we reflect on the powerful journey we've had with our indigenous communities in a commitment to embracing a future that is free from violence and discrimination to all humanity through celebrating milestones of high girls' enrollment and transition to higher education levels as well as great reduction in child marriages, we greatly appreciate our community men and women, boys and girls, and the community local leaders for walking the talk and being on the watch. In commemoration of the Human Rights Day, and as we wind the campaign on 16 Days of Activism, over two hundred teenage girls and boys were gathered together in a champions award ceremony. Much appreciation to our community women, elders, county officials, prominent women leaders, local administration, and our Funders, PAWANKA, for the support in this journey.
Together, we Listen, Learn and Act in a bid to break the chains and embrace Change!
Exactly this day, 4yrs ago...we came together and voiced out to our community on our rights as women and girls, and with support from women and boys from our community who believe in our journey.
Same day in the same community 4yrs down the line...we are back to celebrate milestones of our journey. Our young girls are proud and pressing on boldly.
Thank you to our community for believing in girls contribution in our society and daring to give them a chance to pursue their dreams and more so in education. We are now celebrating achievements that have led to many girls transiting to both high school and college and milestones of increased enrolment of girls to school in our community.
The journey continues and much is yet to be achieved but we are glad to this far.

By planting trees, we take a proactive step towards preserving and restoring the environment while enjoying the numerous benefits they provide. It is crucial that we recognize the importance of tree planting and continue to advocate for the conservation and restoration of forested areas.
TNDP staff joined the community to participate in this noble act.
Today, we pledge to continue working towards a society that not only appreciates but also actively supports and uplifts Indigenous communities. We recognize that your heritage is not a relic of the past but a living, evolving culture that deserves our attention and appreciation. Let us strive for a future where the rights, traditions, and customs of Indigenous people are fully recognized and celebrated.
We also acknowledge the importance of education and raising awareness about Indigenous cultures, histories, and struggles. It is through understanding and empathy that we can bridge divides, challenge stereotypes, and foster meaningful connections.
Together, let us create a society where every Indigenous person can thrive and contribute without fear of discrimination or marginalization. Let us treasure the diversity that indigenous cultures bring to our nation and learn from the lessons of the past to build a more inclusive and equitable future.
On this Mashujaa Day, we salute your bravery, cultural richness, and unwavering spirit. Your contributions to our nation's story are immeasurable, and we stand with you in solidarity as we strive for a better future.
Asante sana, Mashujaa wa Asili.
Happy Utamaduni Day to those who are culturally oriented and against Eurocentrism like us. Cultural diversity is our rich heritage let us embrace it. Leaving your culture is slavery, it's like leaving your country because it's raining forgetting that it rains everywhere when time comes.
Marking the end of African climate week, we joined the world and other activists to create a greener future. Our objective was to combat climate change and ensure food security among indeginous communities living in segera ward.

The national land commission's draft natural resources Atlas is an important tool for identifying and managing the county's natural resources, which are critical for economic development, environmental sustainability and the livelihoods of it's people.
We were privileged to be part of the public engagement on the draft atlas that the National land commission held at nanyuki. They demonstrated its commitment to inclusive and participatory decision making which ensures the Atlas reflects the needs and priorities of all stakeholders, they also provided an opportunity for us to share our views and insights on how the Atlas can be improved to serve the interest of the local communities and the public.

On this Monday morning, let's take a moment to reflect on the incredible work being done by our indigenous communities in Laikipia North,Isiolo North and Samburu East sub counties to rescue young girls and women from the horrors of female ge***al mutilation (FGM), gender-based violence (GBV), and early marriage. Despite the challenges they face, these communities are fighting to protect and empower their most vulnerable members, and their efforts are making a real difference. By supporting them in their efforts, we can help create a brighter future for girls and women everywhere. So let's start this week off by celebrating their courage and commitment, and by joining in the fight to end FGM, GBV, and early marriage for good....
Have a great week.
Happy International Women's Day!!
To all women and more so to our indigenous women in Laikipia, Samburu and Isiolo.
Today is the most historical holiday for women's rights and a celebration of women's achievements.
We want to take this occasion to showcase the most amazing women in our community, our heroes, our cultural custodians, women who have stood beyond measures to protect our culture and ensure it is passed to younger generations without alteration. The indigenous women in Laikipia are the most amazing women in our work. Today we appreciate PAWANKA fund for giving us an opportunity to closely work with our cultural custodians, the indigenous women of the samburu, turkana and maasai communities. As we celebrate the International Womens Day , we are priviledged to undertake PAWANKA supported activites as part of this celebration in recognition of the role women play in ensuring the transition of traditional knowledge and our indigenous identity and the use of innovation and technology for gender equity. The idea is to document and have women spear head in showcasing and passing of knowledge through technology use. Production of Documentaries and Magazines will play a great role in ensuring our indigenous knowledge is preserved for future generations. Thanks to our partners FIMI for always supporting women dreams and goals. We are moving because you gear started us in realizing our vision and empowered us to realize the importance of taking lead in our own initiatives.

It's exciting how men and boys are taking part in supporting this initiative to eradicate FGM practices. TNDP Ndonyo Uasin Male Champions take lead in enlightening our communities. The narrative is changing! Change is now! Change is by us all! End FGM!
