PDRI is a community-based organization working in Kakuma refugee camp, Kenya. The organisation was created in 2014 and recognized by Kenya government in 2016.
Through our Peace Center project, we bring refugees and host communities together to promote peaceful coexistence, inclusion, and sustainable development. Peace for Development Refugee Initiative (PDRI) is a Community Based Organisation (CBO) initiated by Bakire Amisi Pascal, a refugee and Congolese by nationality living in Kakuma refugee camp. Our areas of intervention are: 1. Women Empowerment,
Youth Empowerment, Adult Education and Peace Building. The mission of PDRI is to sensitize a refugee and make him/her to be a principal actor and be involved and participate in order to establish effective and durable Peace and promote development not only in a refugee camp where there have been settled but but also in their respective countries once repatriated for the well being of the society. The major objectives fixed by PDRI are: 1. Sensitizing people especially refugees trough educative actions and conferences so that they don't join gangs, criminal or rebel groups. 2. Fighting against racial, ethnic discrimination and all initiative the can destroy peaceful cohabitation and positive interaction between different communities especially in refugee camp and elsewhere. 3. Promoting all political initiative opting dialogue as way out searching for resolution of problems. 4. Promoting all sociocultural initiative in order to create peaceful interaction and reconciliation climate between communities in conflict. 5. Collaborating with experienced NGOs working in Peace and Development domain in order to expend knowledge of our staffs and members through trainings and seminars. 6. Making up auto funding projects for good running of the office and implementation of our activities
