Samburu Simba Lodge

From the moment you step foot into the Samburu Simba Lodge, the warm welcome of Africa can be felt, an enthusiastic team awaits you in the impressive large, stone-walled reception. The lodge is located in the Buffalo Springs Reserve which lies next to the Samburu National Park and views of the Ewaso Nyiro River give guests a glimpse of the vast savanna that surrounds the lodge, green trees and shrubs breaking the beige and browns in sight.

Villa-style buildings line a rock-clad walkway, each housing rooms on two levels, with a small balcony and views out over the surrounding, vast landscape. There is a spacious restaurant and sitting area and the swimming pool has a slasto deck surrounding it with a poolside bar serving guests relaxing under the African sun. A massage parlor, gift shop and conference center round up some of the other facilities that can be found at Samburu Simba Lodge. Guests can enjoy outdoor dining, bush dinners and cultural visits during their stay at Samburu Simba Lodge.

Route & Public Transport Options
1) Isiolo → Marsabit
Transport: Public bus/matatu from Isiolo to Marsabit (long-distance matatu or scheduled buses).
Time: ~5–7 hours depending on operator and road conditions.�.

Marsabit → Moyale (Kenya)
Transport: Bus/minibus connecting Marsabit to Moyale.
Time: ~4–8 hours depending on stops and road condition.

Moyale (Kenya) → Moyale (Ethiopia)
Cross official border post on foot (passport control both sides).
No vehicle ticket needed if you walk across then catch transport on the Ethiopia side.
Border process: Official immigration required; DO NOT attempt unofficial crossings.
Cost: Free (visa separate cost if required)

Moyale (Ethiopia) → Addis Ababa
Option A: Scheduled long-distance bus/coach
There are services connecting Moyale to Addis Ababa (part of Nairobi–Addis line).
Typical fare: ~KES 7,500 one way (about 7,500 KES per person / ~16,000 ETB) if booked on cross-border coach.�

Option B: Ethiopian intercity bus from Moyale
From the Ethiopian side of Moyale, take a local coach to Addis (often cheaper but slower and less comfortable).

Day-by-Day Summary
Day 1 — Isiolo
Travel from Isiolo to Marsabit → check into guesthouse → explore town markets.
Day 2 — Marsabit
Early bus to Moyale (Kenya) → short town exploration (markets/cafés).
Day 3 — Moyale to Ethiopia
Cross official border → catch Ethiopian bus/coach to start toward Addis → overnight on bus or in small town along route if stopping.
Day 4 — En route to Addis
Arrive in Addis Ababa late afternoon/evening → check in hostel → local dinner.
Day 5 — Addis
Morning city walk (Merkato, Meskel Square, cafés) → trip ends / onward travel.

Time for EXPLORATION

Moshi is a town in northern Tanzania, near the Kenyan border. It's known as a gateway to Kilimanjaro National Park, home to Africa's highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro. Trails run up the mountain’s cloud-ringed, snow-capped dome, through alpine forests and meadows home to elephants and leopards. One of Tanzania's major coffee-producing hubs, Moshi is known for its coffee farms and auctions.
