During our recent 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐥𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 across Busia County, we realized that many students were still wearing torn and worn-out school uniforms. While the shoes brought smiles, the need for dignity in education remained clear.

As our Director, Ms. Sarah Martha, celebrates her 33rd Birthday on Friday 19th December, she has chosen to take action by dignifying 33 needy students, in different public schools with complete school uniforms.

We had an honour to host the KBEST team Jeany, Melanie, and Benjamin for a strategic engagement aimed at strengthening collaboration and enhancing program quality across both institutions.

The discussion focused on:
1. Exploring partnership and collaboration opportunities that can amplify community impact, especially in empowerment, education, and youth-focused interventions.
2. Sharing and documenting Best Practices from the KBEST program and aligning them with our mother umbrella, Dhamira Moja’s existing approaches to improve efficiency, sustainability, and beneficiary outcomes.
3. Reviewing the progress and lessons emerging from the ongoing KBEST capacity-building exercise within Busia County.

The meeting concluded with a commitment from both sides to deepen knowledge exchange, streamline joint activities, and explore structured collaboration frameworks that will support long-term skills development and community empowerment.

We had the honour of hosting a high-level delegation of Nile Basin Discourse (NBD) from headquarters, Entebbe in Uganda and Kenya Nile Discourse Forum (KNDF) from Nairobi under the Empower YOU Project and Wetland Ecosystems.

The visit was part of an exchange learning mission aimed at sharing best practices in youth leadership and Economic empowerment using Wetland materials. The delegation and our members engaged in vibrant discussions on how young people can drive development through innovation, inclusion and active participation in Skilling and community transformation.

We hosted Mr. Hudson Sireka, Director of Industry, and Mr. Collins Otucho, Deputy Director of Industry, from the County Government of Busia – Directorate of Industry for a courtesy visit to Dada Foundation.

Dada Foundation (DadaKrafts Skilling Centre) is a Social Enterprise (Sustainability plan) of Dhamira Moja CBO. As a local community centred organisation we are deliberate in Diversifying our sources of Income and growing our RESOURCE BASKET.

The Visit discussion centered on strategic partnership opportunities to strengthen industrial skills, and support the growth of the Jua Kali sector across Busia County.

We appreciate the Directorate’s commitment to community-driven development and look forward to co-creating impactful programs that unlock local innovation, enhance livelihoods, and advance inclusive economic transformation in Busia.
