YOKOSUKA, Japan (Oct. 16, 2022) – Vender booths provide various American foods, beverages and merchandise onboard Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka (CFAY) during the 44th annual Friendship Day celebration. For the first time in three years, CFAY held the open base event to highlight the friendship between the local Japanese community and the U.S. Navy. For more than 75 years, CFAY has provided, maintained, and operated base facilities and services in support of the U.S. 7th Fleet's forward-deployed naval forces, tenant commands, and thousands of military and civilian personnel and their families. Today, SCSTC WESTPAC welcomed Commodore George Kessler and Brian Deters, Executive Director, as they began their visit of the command. We are also proud to award OSC Wright and FCAC Irvin with Navy Commendation Medals as they prepare to transfer and Mr. Steven Herring for 15 years of government service. Congratulations to newly promoted QM1 Cain!
