「ビジネス戦略としての日系人」と題しまして、㈱ヒガ・インダストリーズ代表取り締役会長兼社長／ウェンディーズ・ジャパン㈱代表取り締役会長　アーネストM比嘉による発表が終わりました。
ハワイで生まれた比嘉さんは自分自身は日本人の顔をしているが日本人としてではなく、アメリカ人としての意識が高くこのことがアメリカ社会において役に立ったそうです。また、日本の精神や意識は生きており、アメリカから日本に企業進出しようとしたときに、この日本人としての意識に助けられました、具体例としてアメリカでは質より量であるが、日本では量より質で、年間を通して様々な創意工夫を施さなければ収益があげられないのです。私は、日系人の立場で、日米をつなぐビジネス戦略を遂行することが出来たのです。

Mr. Ernest M. Higa, President & CEO of Higa Industries Co. Ltd. and Chairman & CEO of Wendy's Japan Co. Ltd. delivered a speech to the audience on ”Nikkei as a Strategic source of talent".
Born in Hawaii and in spite of having a Japanese look, Mr. Higa played a paramount role not only as a Japanese but also as an American in the United States. "Being able to understand and consciously use this Japanese background of mine, allowed me to further enhance operations when setting foot in Japan to establish a company. The trend towards quality rather than quantity from the Japanese in contrast to the American preferring quantity rather than quality can be taken as an example of this"-remarked. As a Nikkei, Mr. Higa further accomplished the tactics to connect businesses between Japan and the United States.

第57回海外日系人大会ライブストリーム Part 2

「フィリピンの日系新世代ー教育の現場から」と題しまして、ミンダナオ国際大学長　マリヤリ・イネス山之内様の発表が終わりました。フィリピンでの日系人の活動は、就籍活動からはじまり、診療所、歴史資料館、小中学校などの教育機関などを設立し、フィリピン国内で大きな役割を果たしている。また、年に1度の日比祭において、日本文化活動での交流を行い、その文化の継承にもつなげることが出来ているということでした。

Ms. Ines Mallari, President & administrator of the Mindanao Kokusai Daigaku addressed the audience with a panel on "Next Generation of Nikkei in the Philippines-from the field of Education". Activities of Nikkei people in the Philippines range from a wide array of fields such as assistance on citizenship acquisition, establishment of clinics, museums, schools among others. In addition to this, through events like Nippi Matsuri, the Nikkei community in the Philippines expects to leave the legacy of Japanese culture to forthcoming generations.

「日系オリンピック、スポーツを通じた日系社会連携強化」と題しまして、パンアメリカン日系人協会名誉会長　春日カルロスさんの発表が終わりました。
春日さんは、2018年にチリで行われる日系オリンピック(Confraternidad Deportiva Internacional Nikkei)への多くの参加者を求め、このスポーツを通して様々な国で生活する人々が集まることで、真の平和につなげていきたいということを言っておられました。

Mr. Carlos Kasuga, Honorary President of the Pan-American Nikkei Association delivered a speech on "Nikkei Olympics, Strengthening cooperation amongst Nikkei communities through Sports".
Mr. Kasuga was looking forward to have a large number of Nikkei athletes coming from all around the globe at the upcoming Nikkei Olympics (Confraternidad Deportiva Internacional Nikkei) happening in Chile in 2018. He also emphasized on the fact that these types of events can lead to becoming a platform and a model of peace among people coming from all kinds of backgrounds.

続いて汎アメリカン日系人協会名誉会長　春日カルロス様による「メキシコ進出企業と日系社会」の講演です。
戦後、メキシコに進出した日産自動車から始まり、自動車業界がメキシコに進出したことで、今日のメキシコがあると思います。
　現在、メキシコでは多くの企業が進出してくる中で、通訳のできる日本人を必要としています。例えば、あるホテルでは1年契約で日本人の社員が通訳者としてメキシコで働いています。
　日本がメキシコに進出してくれたおかげで大きな発展がありますが、まだ、日本とメキシコを結ぶ飛行機の直通便がありませんが、これもいずれ作りたいと考えています。
また、日本の援助を受けながらメキシコに学校も建てたいと考えています。
　私は、この場にいる留学生のユースたちにぜひ日本語をしっかり勉強して、両国のために頑張っていただきたいです。そして、私自身も頑張りたいと思います。

In sequency, "Japanese Business in Mexico and Nikkei Communities" by the President Emeritus of Panamerican Nikkei Association, Mr. Carlos Kasuga.
After the war, beginning from Nissan that was advanced to Mexico, and that the automotive industry has expanded into Mexico.
Actually, in Mexico, we need a nikkeis capable of interpretation. For example, Japanese employees at the one-year contract at a certain hotel has worked in Mexico as a translator.
In Japan, there is a great development who have advanced to Mexico but, still, does not have direct flights of aircraft between Japan and Mexico.
I want you to work hard for the sake of both countries, and I would like also to work hard to myself.

フィリピン日系人会連合会会長・ミンダナオ国際大学長　マリャリ・イネス様が講演しました。
フィリピンは1570年代から日本と交易があり、戦前も多くの日本人がフィリピンに移住しました。そして、日本人がフィリピンに入ることで大きな発展を遂げることが出来ました。しかし、第2次世界大戦時、フィリピンに住む日本人たちは徴兵され、家族が引き裂かれ、財産も奪われた。そして、戦時中在留日本人は、日本人であることを隠しながら生活をしていた。また、そのために身分証明書等の書類も破棄してしまった。
　現在フィリピンにおいて、国籍確認活動を行っている。今日までに673名の身元を確認することができ、これも多くの人たちの協力のおかげである。
　今後も以上の問題を解決しつつ、日本との関係をより深めていきたいと考えています。

Lecture of "Nikkei Communities in the Philippines, Post-War 70 years and Now", by the President of Philippines Nikkeijin-kai, Ms. Mallari Ines.
"Philippines has a trade with Japan since 1570's, and even before the war many Japanese had emigrated to the Philippines. And because of this, it was able to achieve a great development by entering the Philippines. However, during II World War, Japanese people living in the Philippines drafted, families torn apart, and also had deprivation of property. Then, Japanese residents during the war lived for a long time hiding that they are Japanese. They also had to discard documents of identification.
Actually, people are looking for a nationality verification activities in Philippines. Now, it could be possible to verify the identity of 673 people, and this is possible thanks to the cooperation of many people.
We hope other problems could be solved in the future, and we hope to deepen the relationship with Japan"

外務省中南米局長　髙瀨　寧様の講演内容です。
現在日本が積極的な平和主義を進めていく中で、日系人たちが諸国で活躍してくださっていることを誇りに思います。
中南米で行った世論調査では日系人が地域に貢献していると現地の方々が喜んだ下さり、またその文化を学びたいという方たちが増えています。私たちは、今後も日本の文化を情報発信に尽力、支援するとともに、日系人との交流の輪をより強めていきたいと思います。

This is summary of the theme "Overseas Nikkei Communities as Asset" by Mr. Takase Yasushi.
"Now, in which Japan proceeds with pacifism, we are proud that the Japan is organizing activities in our countries.
In a public opinion survey conducted in Latin America has increased, and Japanese people have contributed to the Kudasari region. We are committed to Japanese culture and information dissemination for the future, as well as the support, I would like to strengthen the circle of exchanges with Nikkei".

[WHAT IS YOUTH KAIGI (below, YK15)?]
Organized by the Nippon Foundation Nikkei Scholars Association, the YK15 is a Global Nikkei Youth Summit where young nikkei leaders from all around the globe come to create a space where fellow young nikkeis can share their ideas, experiences, aspirations, and discuss the issues and the future of their communities from the perspective of the youth.

The YK15 is held within The Convention of Nikkei and Japanese Abroad, which is an annual convention that provides a valuable opportunity for Nikkei and Japanese living abroad to gather in Japan or other countries in order to discuss issues that the Nikkei society is facing overseas, while encouraging international exchange, understanding and friendship across national borders and therefore promoting a better understanding of Japan in the international community.

This year's theme for the YK15 is: "Message to the World: Lessons to be drawn from the Post-war History ".

[ユース会議（以下YK15）とは何?]
日本財団日系留学生会が主催するYK15は、年に一度行われる海外日系人大会におけるグローバル日系ユースサミットのことである。世界各国の日系ユースリーダーが集まり、アイデアや経験、願望などを共有し、現代社会の問題に対する意見と視点を話し合い、交換するための交流の場である。

海外日系人大会は、全世界の日系人と海外に在籍する日本人が日本又は他国で一度に集まり、居住国・日系社会の問題を日本社会に公開し議論する貴重な機会である。そのほか、国際交流、国境を越えた理解と友好の促進を図り、国際社会における日本の理解促進を深める場である。

本年度のYK15のテーマは：「戦後７０年の学びと世界への提言」です。
