Chandra Sekhar Academy International School, Mukaijima (Kyoto), the first-ever Indian based English medium school in the Kansai region, western Japan has been imparting successfully elementary education to the children of Indian diaspora & its peripheral countries.
During this post-Covid period we have introduced online sessions & evening doubt clearing classes too. 現在、日本では世界各国から多数の外国人労働者を迎え、徐々にその家族も日本に居住するようになってきています。しかし海外から来日したばかりの外国人労働者とその子どもたちにとって、日本語や日本の文化を学ぶには多大な時間を要するため、日本に馴染めないまま母国に帰ってしまうという現実があります。私は、日本に働きに来られた、幅広い層の外国人家庭の子どもたちが通いやすい授業料のインターナショナルスクールをつくり、来日したばかりの子どもたちに、英語教育はもちろん日本語教育・日本文化・マナーを教えることで、日本社会にはやく馴染めるよう、また現在、日本企業で働いている外国人が家族で長く日本に住める教育環境づくりを目指し、新たなカタチの国際学校を京都の地で2018年に開校しました。
よりよい教育環境を整えることは、現在、日本企業で働いている優秀な外国人が、日本での勤務を継続することにつながり、日本企業も優秀な人材を確保できます。子どもたちが長く日本で暮らし、将来、日本の大学に進学すれば、少子化に悩む大学も学生数が増加し、日本経済の活性化にも寄与します。本学の設立により、企業の京都転入につながれば、日本の持つ技術・街並み・人間性などの素晴らしさをＰＲすることができると思っています。

当初より厳しい状況であると聞いていましたが、一命を取りとめていただきたいとの願いが叶わず、残念で悲しい気持ちでいっぱいです。
私は、インド日本友の会、代表として2021年に安倍元総理の事務所でお会いすることができました。インド政府から送られる勲章「パドマ・ビブシャン章」を受章されたころで、日印関係の発展に貢献いただいていることへの御礼を申し上げました。
また面談の際、運営するインドと京都にあるChandra Sekhar Academy学校の子どもたちに「希望」というメッセージを、私には「不動心」のメッセージを色紙に書いていただき感激したのを今も覚えています。
ちょうど体調がすぐれない頃だったかと思いますが、私の長い話を優しく穏やかに聞いていただき、首相在任期間8年8カ月と、憲政史上最長総理をつとめられた日本の総理とお話しできたことは私の宝となりました。
「美しい国、日本」の日本国民の未来のために頑張ってこられ、世界で愛された偉大な政治家を、このような形で失ってしまったこと、本当に残念で悲しくてたまりません。
西大寺の演説の際、候補者の方について「彼はやらないことの理由を探す人ではなかった」と話され、それが安倍元総理の最後の言葉になったと記事で見ました。
本会は、この安倍元総理の言葉を胸に刻み、
「やらないことへの理由を探す」のではなく
「実現させるためにできることを探す」
会でありたいと思っております。
日頃より本会を支えてくださる皆様に感謝を申し上げますとともに、安倍元総理のご冥福をお祈り申し上げます。

Dear friends,
I have no words to express this saddest shoot out news from Nara ( Saidaiji) the place in Japan where I belong to & was present then but couldn’t help in anyway. Shinzo Abe, the all time great, longest serving Ex PM of Japan was shot at close proximity on Friday (8th July, 2022)at about 11:30 AM JST while addressing a public meeting on an election campaign in western Japan, the former capital of Nara. Soon airlifted in a critical condition & was declared dead in the hospital after hours.
The shocking news spread like wild fire & the world stopped & stared up for a moment … whispering….RIP.. Amen… May his soul rest in eternal peace. I’m deeply shocked by this terrible loss to me, I’m so close to him & his family . I don’t have words to console his bereaved wife. May she be strengthened by the divine grace of Lord Jagannath to bear this terrible loss. Abe San was less a person, more an institution, an encyclopedia & the tallest towering personalities Japan has ever produced.
Recently he has been elected as Chairman of Japan-India Association (est.1903) succeeding ex-PM Mori. It certainly is a huge loss in the personal exchanges in between the land of the rising sun (Japan) & the land of the moon (India).
I sincerely thank PM Modiji and all my fellow Indian people for the declaration of a national mourning for the beloved late PM Abe San.
May the world stand united to pledge stop such heinous crimes & start singing the hymns of peace & brotherhood.
May his divine soul rest in eternal peace and support us all forever.

On May 21, a concert of "Northern Indian Classical Music" by Santur (hundred string koto) player Setsuo Miyash*ta and tabla (Indian percussion instrument) player Kazuto Sashihara will be held at Masumi Space MURO (near JR Otsuka station). Dear friend,
If at all you want your friends, relatives or well-wishers to be admitted in our Japanese Language School in Japan for better career prospects, they're advised to learn the basics prior to their arrival here for which we do online classes to boost up their basics in Japanese. After arrival, More importantly, if they acquired basics of Japanese language , as per the rules of Japan Government under student visa , they would be allowed to work about 4 hours a day to support their study expenses in Japan. Our Story
India-Japan Friendship Center, Japan ( IJFCJ), an NPO ( Non Profit Organisation) conceived in the year 2002 & finally registered under Japan government on 2006 having its multifaceted objectives including empowerment of Culture, Education, Tourism, Commerce & Industry in either of the countries India & Japan and thereby building a bridge of goodwill where people from either countries can pass over to the other having support & respect for each other.
Finally struggling through grassroots , dispersing gamut of doubts & accomplishing a lot of small & big things through its members , Kunna Dash could arrive at a consensus that these two asiatic civilisations having democratic form of government & lots of similarities if joined together would be having immense effects to transform them as world leaders. The land of the rising sun & the land of the moon stand testimony to its fluttering wings spreading high.
Standing along Kunna Dash , President, IJFCJ exclaimed his bygone days while praising all his members for their awesome support to accomplish these rare milestones towards Indo-Japan solidarity & goodwill.
We could have built more stronger connection with Japan due to exemplary works of our members through exchange of artists, students, teachers and people from many more distinctive fields while celebrating small and big festivals , concerts, exhibitions , carnivals etc. all along respecting each-other’s culture, heritage & habitat. I would like to depict this unbelievable story in a nutshell which might help inspire our successors getting still better. Please have a glimpse through it in your leisure and feel free to share if anything felt relevant.
The story conceived 30 years back when I newly had been to Japan and visited Japanese households . Usually I was overwhelmed with a lot of questions as if they have learnt very less about India or we haven’t made its adequate promotion. They used to ask me of their experiences on river Ganga while sitting on its bank at Varanasi, India . People were bathing buffaloes , washing clothes, corpses of human & animal were floating on its streams & still people used to drink its water, knowing well it was contaminated spreading water-born diseases, they asked.
They were intriguing why did people throw corpses into rivers instead of burying or placing them on pyre. It took me long time to make them understand that Ganga is one of the largest rivers of India and it has been flowing through human habitation also. And so, when flooded through burial grounds or forest areas dead bodies of animals & human beings were often swept across . More so , Indian population is ten times higher than that of Japan and its density is much more. But still government is trying to keep it clean and pure. While visiting Buddhist monuments or Taj Mahal they used to come across beggars, shabby roads and dirty people as the face of India excluding its abundant treasures and diversities. I had to discuss with them intimately to make them understand about poverty stricken India and how it had been trying hard in the path of development despite all odds even. They too believed Indians ate spicy curry and it meant hot chilli powder which was detrimental to health . I tried to cook them food in Indian style and made them aware that Indian curry was beyond hot & spicy and its herbal / natural ingredients helped enriching our dishes with minerals/ vitamins while digesting food grains properly .
Similarly when I came to India, they had a notion that all people having flat nose or blink eye are Chinese. And they also believed Japanese ate cockroach , lizard etc. Slowly I made them understand about their follies and let them know that Japan is a small but developed country. Its people were clean, hospitable & hardworking. I loved them and at the same time wanted to make them understand India at its full in 4 dimensions. With this mindset I laid the foundation of IJFCJ for the holistic contribution between these two countries as the gateway of south-east Asia. Now it has come a long way to prove itself standing firm before you. India is Yoga, the art of spiritual unification and its IT is exclaimed for exquisite software skill. And also its Math that invented zero as an integer. So in either of my schools students have been given finest exposure to math, IT, Yoga, English & Japanese language & culture. I am happy that there are many Indian NPOs, associations , conventional stores and restaurants have groomed up across the length & breadth of Japan for which total credit goes to the relentless effort of our IJFCJ members while delegating their duties in utmost sincerity. The much awaited Japanese visa has been extended to Indian skilled workers like masons, carpenters, farmers, health workers etc. 3 to 5 years which was not in vogue earlier.
With an objective to revive the age old cultural amity , Indian festivals in Japan & Japanese festivals in India have been organised amid funfair to imbibe its fervour at grass-root level. The organisation primarily aims at identifying areas of convergence for mutual cooperation and brotherhood between the two countries in a constructive manner , contributing to the advancement of overall bilateral relations. It further reaffirms its determination to strengthen cooperation between India & Japan for comprehensive reforms at grass-root level.
Understanding the essence of education or realising that education is the canvas over which all the paintings are made I established two schools one in India & the other in Japan to spread Indian culture & education in Japan and so also Japan’s in India. My basic objective was to introduce Japanese language & culture here in my school in India so as to make the young minds prepare better for their workplaces in India & Japan. They can have their livelihood in Japanese companies in Japan & India according to their skills imbibed. An IT school has been made under the roof to help assist our +2 students to opt for an IT career in Japanese companies . Similarly an Indian based CBSE school in Kyoto, Japan has been made to cater the needs of the children of Indian expats & its peripheral countries staying Kansai region, western Japan. They could have their culture and language alive still living in Japan & there by help create a secular world community that protects humanity at large.
In the year 2004 I established a CBSE school in the name Chandra Sekhar Academy in Puri, Odisha. The school surrounded by rural habitation having no such nearby English medium school to look after or cater an international curriculum and so the school came into being to avail this medium hassle free at an affordable rate. Besides being CBSE It has become the only school in the state where Japanese language & culture has been taught as an elective subject from elementary to senior secondary (+2) level until now.
Adding another colourful feather into its cap on 6 Apr 2018 the school opened its international branch in Kyoto, the former capital & the temple city of Japan. The school has been made for the children of Indian and its peripheral expats staying in western Japan and for those who have left their families in natives without having an affordable school here. It upheld the proud legacy of becoming the first ever Indian based English medium school in Kansai region, western Japan. At our international branch we wish to develop the children from India and its peripheral countries and to nurture them into intellectuals who love both culture of their origins & Japan, and who have courtesy.
As India is recognised for its IT in Japan & the parent school is already having basement of Japanese language & culture , an IT training centre (TICSA) has been opened in its premises on 13 Oct 2019. Along with various other computer courses O-level & A-level NIELIT courses have been imparted under the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Govt. of India. It has been made the only centre in the country where along with NIELIT course it successfully covers Japanese language & culture too.
It has been meticulously designed Japanese language & culture centre inside the campus for higher studies & specialisation in Japanese language & culture or opting for Masters or PhD in Japanese universities. Along with higher studies short term 4 months refresher courses have been made available for TITP workers and other such people in specialized fields those who intend to make a career in Japan.
The motto is to help out Indians and its peripheral expats staying in Japan and so also Japanese people when they have been to India or sought any such help during their stay here. With the concentration of aging population in Japan and as a technologically advanced country, it has been the facelift to recruit young skilled Indians in varied workplaces to cope with its fiery scarcity. Live & let others live while enriching and helping each other is our motto.
Let all Indians at least once pay a visit to Japan before going to any other countries. It is a small but one of the high-tech countries of the world. Its art of preventing natural calamities like tsunami, earthquake, typhoon etc. are exemplary. In construction & highway engineering Japan is worth noticing & in hospitality & cleanliness it’s second to none. They have proven efficiency in recycling & garbage management . Japan is pioneer in hardware, automotive industries . While holidaying one can have wonderful times visiting world heritage sites along with small, medium scale automatic companies and their productivity. Anybody willing to visit Japan and having such awesome experience are avidly welcome by IJFCJ to avail this golden opportunity and Similarly we appeal our Japanese friends to visit India with its beautiful sea beaches , hill stations, Buddhist monasteries and many more heritage sites having enriched resources of abundant raw materials & Skilled manpower to be the right place for commerce & investment. We appreciate this endeavour to guide entrepreneurs of Japan for investment and establishment of companies in India as a goodwill gesture.
