🌞🔥 Know the Signs, Save a Life! 🔥🌞

Okinawa's summer heat is no joke — and heat-related injuries can sneak up fast. Whether you're training, working, or playing outside, it’s critical to recognize the warning signs and protect yourself and those around you.

🚨 Here’s what to look for:

⚠️ Heat Cramps

- Painful muscle cramps (legs, arms, abdomen)
- Heavy sweating during intense activity
- Fatigue

➡️ What to do:
- Stop activity, hydrate with water or sports drinks, and cool down in the shade.

⚠️ Heat Exhaustion

- Heavy sweating
- Weakness or fatigue
- Dizziness or fainting
- Headache
- Nausea or vomiting
- Pale, cool, clammy skin
- Fast, weak pulse

➡️ What to do:
- Move to a cool place, loosen clothing, sip water slowly, and seek medical attention if symptoms worsen.

🚨 Heat Stroke – MEDICAL EMERGENCY

- Body temp above 104°F (40°C)
- Hot, red, dry or damp skin
- Confusion or unconsciousness
- Rapid, strong pulse
- Seizures

➡️ What to do:
- CALL 098-934-5911 IMMEDIATELY. Move the person to a cooler area, use cool cloths or ice packs, and fan them until help arrives.

💧 Prevention is your best defense:
✅ Stay hydrated – drink water regularly
✅ Take frequent breaks in shaded or air-conditioned spaces
✅ Wear light-colored, breathable clothing
✅ Avoid peak heat (1100–1500) if possible
✅ Check on teammates, family, and pets

Never leave kids or pets in cars – even with the windows cracked!

⛺️🔥Campfire Fun Starts with Fire Safety!

Spending time around a campfire is a great way to make memories — roasting marshmallows, telling stories, and enjoying the outdoors. But before you strike that match, let’s make sure everyone stays safe!

Here are some simple tips:

✅ Choose a safe spot — Keep fires away from tents, trees, and anything that can catch fire.

✅ Always watch your fire — Never leave it alone, even for a minute!

✅ Keep water nearby — A bucket of water or a hose can help if things get out of hand.

✅ Only burn firewood — Don’t toss in trash or other materials.

✅ Put it out completely — Pour water over the fire, stir the ashes, and pour more water until it’s cool 😎

Safety first means fun for everyone!
Let’s work together to protect our families, our base, and the beautiful outdoors we enjoy.

Have fun, stay safe, and happy camping! 🏕️

As you gear up for a fun and festive Easter weekend, Kadena Fire Prevention wants to remind everyone to keep safety at the top of your egg-hunt checklist! ✅

If you're using candles for décor or religious observances, never leave them unattended. Consider battery-operated candles as a safer alternative! 💡

Whether you're preparing brunch or dinner, stay in the kitchen while cooking. Keep flammable items like towels, oven mitts, and Easter baskets away from stovetops.

If you're hosting an egg hunt, check outdoor areas for hazards — like sharp objects, ant hills, or uneven surfaces — before kids begin the search.

4. Basket Stuffers 🎁⚠️

🚒🔥 Kadena Fire Prevention: Family Fire Safety Tips! 🔥🚒

Your family's safety is our top priority! Fire safety starts at home, and a little preparation can make a BIG difference. Here are some essential fire safety tips for you and your loved ones:

✅ Test Smoke Alarms Monthly – Make sure your home’s smoke alarms are working properly. Change the batteries at least once a year!

✅ Create & Practice an Escape Plan – Know two ways out of every room and establish a family meeting spot outside. Practice your fire drill at least twice a year.

✅ Stay Low & Go – If there's smoke, stay low to the ground and crawl to safety.

✅ Keep Matches & Lighters Away from Children – Store them in a locked cabinet or high out of reach.

✅ Never Leave Cooking Unattended – Most home fires start in the kitchen. Always stay in the kitchen while cooking and keep a lid nearby to smother small grease fires.

✅ Plug Safely – Avoid overloading electrical outlets and inspect cords for damage.

✅ Close Before You Doze – Sleeping with your bedroom door closed can slow the spread of fire and smoke, giving you more time to escape.

🚨 If a fire starts, get out, stay out, and call (+81)98-934-5911! Never go back inside for anything.

Help keep Kadena families safe—share these tips with your friends and loved ones! 💙🔥

🔥Kadena Fire Prevention: Carbon Monoxide Safety🔥

Carbon monoxide (CO) is an invisible, odorless gas that can be deadly. Protect yourself and your family by following these safety tips:

✅ Install CO Alarms – Place them in sleeping areas and check batteries regularly.
✅ Never Idle Vehicles Indoors – Running a car in a garage, even with the door open, can allow CO to build up.
✅ Use Fuel-Burning Appliances Safely – Ensure heaters, stoves, and fireplaces are well-ventilated and maintained.
✅ Know the Symptoms – Headache, dizziness, nausea, and confusion can indicate CO poisoning. Get fresh air immediately and call 911 if you suspect exposure.

Stay safe, Kadena! If you have questions or need assistance, contact Kadena Fire Prevention. Your safety is our priority!

🔥Fire Safety Tip from Kadena Fire Prevention🔥

When charging your portable devices — such as phones, tablets, or laptops — always place them on a hard, non-flammable surface. Charging on soft surfaces like beds, couches, or pillows can trap heat and increase the risk of fire.

Remember:
✅ Use manufacturer-approved chargers
✅ Unplug devices when fully charged
✅ Avoid charging overnight on flammable materials

Let’s stay safe and fire-free, Kadena!
