Sharing a proposed design I had created for 11th Dental Company, 3d Dental Battalion. The overall composition is based on a 11th Dental Company patch from the Vietnam War. The two white symbols are the emblems of Okinawa & Iwakuni representing the 2 geographic locations of 11th Dental Company. A fun hidden detail is that the tooth is in the shape of tooth #11.

While doing some updates to my portfolio, I decided to revamp a logo I designed back in 2018. Aside from the name of the lookout point on ships, the name draws inspiration from a piece of the U.S. Navy uniform. A crow is the nickname for the eagle rank insignia worn by Petty Officers (ranks E-4 through E-6). ⚓️🍻

: There’s nothing more welcoming than a hand-lettered sign. 🙂

While in South Korea I found a restaurant with a familiar B in its logo. I doubt there’s any connection to the Red Sox, but it’s a nice touch for a burger joint named Boston Burger. 🍔🇰🇷

I had another delightful exchange with a ROK Navy Sailor today. I gave him my Fleet Marine Force pin and he gave me a Logistics Group 65 patch. It truly is a brotherhood. 🇺🇸🇰🇷🤝⚓️

While waiting for the bus to church, I met a ROK Navy Sailor and we exchanged pins. I gave him my Fleet Marine Force pin and he gave me his Aviation Advanced Pilot pin. After receiving his wings, I was humbled by him telling me “I respect you for serving your country”. 🇺🇸🇰🇷🤝

Thank you for all the birthday wishes! Turning 30 while being in South Korea will be quite the memory. I brought a little piece of home with me. My Mom gave me this Birthday Monkey for my 21st birthday. I didn’t have cake, but I improvised with a birthday donut and a match from a MRE. Here’s to my 30s! May this next decade be full of fun memories! 🎂🎉🎁🥳3️⃣0️⃣

Spent my birthday learning more about the Republic of Korea (ROK) Marine Corps at the ROKMC Pohang History Museum. The museum had a great collection of uniforms, equipment, & photographs spanning across the 74 year history of the ROK Marines. 🇰🇷

Today we took a trip to the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). Our three stops included the Peace Park, the 3rd of 4 tunnels dug under the border, and the observation deck overlooking North Korea. Throughout the day I offered prayers for peace and healing especially for the families that have been separated. 🇰🇷🇰🇵🕊️

Greetings from South Korea! While I’m here on TAD (Temporary Additional Duty), I’ve picked up some cool Korean snacks and ROK Marine coins & patches including a name tape with my last name in Korean. 🇰🇷
