Hi everyone!
Hope each of you had a good weekend despite this heat! It’s 34℃ scorching hot everyday.🥵 I feel very thankful to the delivery drivers for their job!!
In my studio, the boxes of artwork materials come in one after another. Mostly for my RYUBO show in December. Besides those, sweetest gift just came in from one of our daughter in law’s parents! We love Miyakojima Mangoes 🥭😍. Also, we had all our children families’ visits throughout the weekdays to the weekend! Blessed.

I had a fun Friday evening at the usual bar. The place appreciate the cash payment since they offer the drinks for very affordable prices. I love that. Besides Japan is still cash-based in many parts.
This month, Japan issued new banknotes for the first time in two decades. Here’s the new bills with renewed designs!

Hi everyone!
I got up early this morning. Probably that’s because I’m getting old!? 😂
There’s a Japanese proverb “早起きは三文の徳 (hayaoki wa san-mon no toku)”. In English, it’s “The early bird catches the worm”.
I cleaned the house already, folded the laundry, baked the cookies and now the bread dough is rising in the bread machine! Yay. I’m sure I need a nap later!? 😂

Hope you all had a good start of July. I did! It was nice to have my daughter yesterday afternoon. She’s working at the office near my studio. We had a relaxing time together with lots of fun chatting. Her caring husband came picked her up afterwards. It’s always perfect to see all my grownup kids having happy lives.

My favorite client family surprised me to knock on my gallery door yesterday!! It’s been three years since they left Okinawa and they are on their “hometown” visit from the U.S. now. It was precious time to see how much their daughter is talented in drawing like 3 years ago! Thanks for the laughters!!!💙

I’ve been stuck at atelier with “painter’s high” mode to create the new works. How wonderful to get a message from my very long term client in the mainland Japan to ask me the dates of my annual solo show at RYUBO Art Gallery. It’s December 10-16.
Huge thanks to amazing art lovers to encourage me like this! I’m motivated and can’t wait to start another series of paintings when I complete the current canvases.
Wow. It really was a productive day ended up with a glass of wine with my supportive husband. Cheers everyone!🍷

I spent an amazing 2-Days on Foster! The Pop-up at the Marine Gift Shop was all about the good conversations with my favorite people. Thank you all for supporting this artist for a long term! On the Friday evening, I was fortunate enough to attend the most heartwarming retirement ceremony and banquet of my client family. Life is wonderful when you have lots of great individuals in your circle. Have a fabulous weekend, everyone!!

Finally the sun is out after the rainy, gloomy days in Okinawa. It’s too beautiful day to stuck at the atelier but I’m starting to create some new paintings for the RYUBO Art Gallery exhibition coming up on December. My summer is going to be a tough one!😂

Hi everyone! In Japan, it’s the middle of the long holidays called “Golden Week”.
Speaking of the Japanese cultures, antique Kokeshi Dolls (wood curved statues) are unique, one of a kind treasures.
I received a beautiful photo from my amazing client yesterday. She displayed her KYOKOART Sumi-Drawing with her wonderful Kokeshi Dolls collection including the one from her childhood. Life is good when you have something special to cherish your fond memories! ❤️
