Dr. Megumi Chibana, assistant professor at Kanagawa University, spoke to Rotary Peace Fellows and ICU students on January 16, 2020 about her research on "Rethinking Okinawan Indigeneity and Everyday Practices of Farming." The lecture and ensuing discussion examined the politics of tacit farming and mokunin kōsaku, the cultivation of land by native farmers on lands officially occupied and controlled by the U.S. military. Dr. Chibana shared with students how everyday acts of farming redefines militarized space and prompts a rethinking of Okinawan Indigeneity and what it means to reclaim a peaceful relationship with the land. 1月16日(木)神奈川大学の知花恵先生をお招きし、沖縄問題についてセミナーを開催しました。
