今日のワンポイント英会話は、「キャリア」と「キャリアー」の違いです。これは、英文履歴書で最もよく見られる間違いです。おそらく、キャリアとキャリアーのカタカナが同じだからでしょう。

「キャリア (carrier)」は、人や物が何かを運んだり、持ったり、運んだりするものです。飛行機、抱っこ紐、トラックなどがあります。「キャリア (career)」は、職業のことです。

あなたのキャリアは、佐川急便のような運送会社でトラックを運転することも含まれるかもしれません。
