第1回のベネフィットコンサートに出演した時には高校生だった茉理枝さんも、一児の母となり、10年の歳月を感じます。

　　日本三景の一つ、宮城県松島は、大震災からの復興を果たしたものの、コロナで観光業が打撃を受けています。
　　宮城県からのゲストを迎えた2018年のイベントをきっかけに、新日本舞踊の松宮幸扇家元とシアトルの高校生 真理亜さんとの交流が生まれました。
　　松島町の櫻井町長からのメッセージや観光案内もお届けします。

　　内モンゴル出身、仙台在住の歌手イリナさんの新曲は、地元の方の復興への思いが込められた曲です。
　　仙台湾に沿って流れる貞山運河は、津波の被害を受け、復興工事が続いています。
♡ テイラー・アンダーソン記念基金からのビデオメッセージ
　　宮城県石巻市で英語教師をしていた、アンディさんの娘テイラーさんは、津波により命を落とした、ただ一人のアメリカ人でした。
　　ご両親が設立したテイラー・アンダーソン記念基金は、石巻の学校に文庫を寄付するなどの活動を通じ、日米の懸け橋となっています。
♬ それいけ！シアトルっ子「アンパンマンたいそう」
　　シアトルの日本語幼稚園・保育園の子どもたちが、元気よく「アンパンマンたいそう」を踊ります。
　　出演は、 Bellevue Children's Academy、Home Dance Lesson RISA、 めぐみ保育園、SOH子ども合唱団、すぎのこ幼稚園、すぎのこ保育園、 遊学舎の子どもたちです。
♡ いわき放射能市民測定室たらちねからのビデオメッセージ
　　地震と津波の被害からは復興しても、放射能事故の影響はこの先も続きます。
　　昨年12月に購入支援キャンペーンを行った「トリチウム水の濃縮装置」が導入されました。
　　東京電力が太平洋に流そうとしているトリチウムは、西海岸にも届きます。
♬ Chorus of Hope「群青」
　　５周年記念コンサートで歌った「群青」を、弦楽オーケストラ＆ピアノ版で再演します。
　　震災と原発事故からの避難でバラバラになってしまった 福島県南相馬市立小高中学校の子どもたちの気持ちから生まれた合唱曲。
　　美穂さんが、この歌に込められた思いを語ります。
　　世界中からの参加者が、各自録音した歌をミックスしたリモート合唱です。
この一年、コロナのせいで、今まで当たり前だったことが、様々に制限されました。
病に倒れた家族と離され、会えぬままの別れとなってしまったり、孤独から命を絶った方もいらっしゃいました。
この日々は、大震災で被害を受けた方々、特に放射能事故の被災者が、10年前に体験されたことと、とても似ていると感じます。
正しい情報を求め、限られた中で最善の選択をしようと頑張り、分断を乗り越えようと手をつなぐ。
被災者の方々が、10年積み重ねてきた暮らしを、支援者であった私たちが、今、繰り返しています。
コロナも放射能も、これから先の私たちの暮らしに長く影響を与えていくでしょう。
これまでの10年で培ったご縁を、今、あらためて感謝するとともに、この先に続くご縁を大切にし、共に歩んでいきたいと思います。

今中哲二(いまなか てつじ)プロフィール
2016年3月京都大学を定年退職し、現在京都大学複合原子力科学研究所研究員。
専門は原子力工学。大学院時代より日本の原子力開発の在り方に疑問をもちはじめ、研究者としては、原子力を進めるためではなく原子力利用にともなうデメリットを明らかにするというスタンスでの研究を行ってきた。広島・長崎原爆による放射線被曝量の評価、チェルノブイリ原発事故影響の解明、セミパラチンスク核実験場周辺での放射能汚染の現地調査などに従事。2011年3月の福島第一原発事故以降はもっぱら福島の問題に専念。

昨日、たらちねに双葉郡の方からお電話がありました。「デブリの取出しの調査のために、蓋に穴を開けたところ、中の圧力が急激に変化し水蒸気爆発の危険があった」という内容でした。
双葉郡には東電から説明があったということです。

私たちは、たらちねがあるいわき市の原子力対策課に連絡し、いわき市にもその情報は伝わっているのか確認しました。
いわき市にもその情報は伝わっていました。1月21日の出来事だということでした。
しかし、私たち市民には、その一触即発の状況があることを知らされません。「危機があっても結果オーライならいい」ということでしょうか？

私たちは「いつ何が起きてもおかしくない状況」が、すぐそこにあるということをより強く実感しました。
東日本大震災による原発事故から10年、今も原発では爆発の危険があり、現場では考えられないような危険な作業が続いているということです。

福島）第一原発、処理水のトリチウムは分離できる？：朝日新聞デジタル

【トリチウムの分離技術について〜「仕方がないから流している」ことからの脱皮・子どもたちの未来のために…】

たらちねに導入した電解濃縮装置は、トリチウムを含む水の中の酸素と水素を揮発させて、トリチウム水だけを残します。トリチウム水だけが残り、元の水全体の量は減るので濃縮されたことになるという仕組みです。この作業を繰り返し、トリチウム水の濃度を高めて測定することにより、測定値を出すことができます。
また、この電解濃縮装置は、従来の電気分解の際に添加する水酸化ナトリウムなど、電気分解を助ける水溶液を加えなくても分解ができる装置です。

このようにトリチウムを含む水からトリチウムを分離し水の量を減らすことは、小規模の装置での技術は確立されています。
これを大規模に行うことや、その他の高濃度核種が混じった処理汚染水をどう扱っていくかなどを考慮し、どうしていったらいいかについては、日本国内や海外で実験がなされ、実用の見通しがついたという報告もあります。

「トリチウムは分離できないから流すしかない」というのが、これまでの原子力発電所の考え方で、日本中の原発からトリチウムは当たり前のように海に放出されてきました。しかし、福島原発事故を機に、トリチウムの分離技術が構築され、実用化されると日本中の原発が流し続けてきたトリチウムの海洋放出もストップできる可能性があると思います。

そのためには、それを実現するための資金が必要です。その経費は原発を稼働していく中の必要経費の一つだと思います。原発を稼働させるリスクを技術により解決することは大切なことです。

「お金がかかっても、やらなければならないこと」はあると思います。
海に流さなくても方法はある、ということをみなさんに知っていただきたいと思います。子どもたちの未来のために…

[Mushroom study session]
There are many kinds of mushrooms in Japan.
Today, we held a study session by Takeko Tomita of the "Iwaki Mushroom Club".
Mushrooms in eastern Japan were severely damaged by the radioactive contamination caused by the Fukushima nuclear accident on March 11, 2011.
Mushrooms were contaminated with radioactivity and could no longer be eaten.
However, people who care about mushrooms are still observing mushrooms.
In the story of Takeko Tomita, many mushrooms such as poisonous mushrooms, mushroom poisoning, and delicious mushrooms appeared.
We attended the study session and felt that humans were not the only ones suffering from the nuclear accident.

This message is going out to friends of Songs of Hope.

As the end of the year approaches—and with it the tenth year since the 2011 East Japan Disaster—we’ve been assembling a four-part mini-series to show on our YouTube channel (dates below in bold).

In the series, we’ll reflect on the past ten years at Songs of Hope. We’ll also share interviews with members of Mothers’ Radiation Lab Fukushima (MRLF)—a group we’ve become close with—to learn what they’re up to.

In fact, a main purpose of this event is to raise funds to help MRLF buy a lab device that detects and measures the levels of tritium, a radioactive isotope, in water.

But why would MRLF need to do that?

As you may know, tritium-contaminated water is currently being stored at the Fukushima Dai-Ichi Nuclear Power Plant. As the water accumulates, it will eventually exceed the facility’s storage capacity. It’s unclear exactly what will happen to the water at that point, but if it is released into the environment, MRLF needs to be prepared to detect any radiation it carries.

The mini-series will be presented in English and Japanese and will be hosted by Songs of Hope’s Fumi and Chad.

It starts on Tuesday, December 1st and runs through Friday the 4th. Every day a new video will go up on the Songs of Hope in Seattle YouTube channel.

Songs of Hope concerts are where the local choir, the Chorus of Hope, comes together. Learn about past gatherings of the Chorus of Hope and virtual performances its members have prepared during the pandemic so far.

· Songs of Hope Memories: Three members of local Japanese choirs—Teruko from Sounds Singers, Saburo from Evergreen Glee Club, and Chad from both—talk about past Seattle Chorus Festivals.
· From MRLF: Many children in Fukushima live with the continuing stress of the 2011 earthquake and ensuing nuclear disaster. Ms. Matsuzaka of Atelier Tarachine talks about their work providing mental and emotional support to such children.

Report of the opening ceremony

Mothers' Radiation Lab Fukushima held its private opening ceremony and
clinic preview May 1st.
Though the ceremony was simple, everyone's warm greetings and
heartfelt wishes made for a wonderful celebration beyond our
imagining.
We could never have opened our doors on the efforts of board and staff
members' alone. Our clinic exists because of the powerful support and
assistance we received from dedicated individuals and organizations.
The nuclear accidents caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake left
us without dreams or hope.
It is painful to think of what the future holds for our children,
however, we believe that the opening of our clinic is a testament to
the will of our people to break this hopeless situation.
We believe that one of the most precious things we can leave our
children is their belief in us that we did everything we could to save
them.
The harshness of our unprecedented experiences left people divided and
our community broken. Through our clinic, however, we will work hard
to reconnect people's hearts and rebuild our community.
Your continued support and uplifting caring will be deeply
appreciated. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
