In Japan, people raise carp streamers on Children's Day (May 5). Parents display them with the wish that their children will grow up healthy and well.🎏
The origin of the carp streamer comes from a Chinese legend, in which it is said that a carp that had climbed over a fast-flowing waterfall (Ryumon Falls) became a dragon and ascended to the heavens. It is also said that another origin of carp is that it is a fish with a strong life force that can live anywhere.
