Good Morning!

Now that restrictions on social gatherings at Yokota have been relaxed, the YMRA will be holding its next breakfast meeting on Saturday, 7 August 2021, at the Yokota Enlisted Club (in the same room that we previously held our meetings).

We have invited Mr. Ruben Garza, the Yokota Mortuary Affairs Officer, to be the guest speaker at this meeting. He will be giving us a rundown on the services his office can provide to our retiree community. We will also be holding elections for new YMRA officers. Nominations and confirmations will take place at the meeting. It's been over a year since our last meeting, so here are all the pertinent details to refresh your memory:

WHO: YOU! (Military Retirees/Spouses/Survivors).
WHAT: Yokota Military Retiree Association (YMRA) meeting.
WHEN: Saturday, August 7th, at 0900. (The business side of things starts at 0900. You can order breakfast until 0830.)
WHERE: Back meeting room of Charlie T's at the Yokota E'Club.
WHY: Good food, good fellowship, and some useful info.

C'mon on out and renew old acquaintances! Hope to see you there!

While the below info is not solely for retirees, we ARE included. The Yokota Hospital (374MDG) asked the RAO to share this info with our retiree community and we are more than happy to oblige. (It's the least we can do, considering all their help to the RAO and retiree community at large.)

Team Yokota-

This will be ONLY for individuals who received their 1st dose of Moderna on or before 2 April. If you meet this criteria, please schedule your vaccination with the instructions below. Currently there are no 1st doses of Moderna available.
a. Please do not show up to the line if you have not scheduled an appointment ahead of time.

**ATTENTION RETIREE COMMUNITY!! THE LATEST INFORMATION ON THE VACCINE SHOTS (CURRENT A/O 1630, MONDAY, 5 APRIL) - READ CAREFULLY!!**

Hopefully, the majority of the retiree community has received their shots. *IF* you are eligible but haven't yet received your shot and/or been notified, it is most likely because the Yokota Hospital (374 MDG) doesn't have your correct contact information. The RAO strongly urges you to contact the 374MDG TRICARE Office at 225-8864, Option 6 then 3 to verify/update your information if you haven't already done so. For all other vaccine-related matters, check out the MDG page; you can leave comments or questions and also message them from that page.

#TeamYokota

We will start vaccinating people who fall into Tier 1C and are expecting to finish all of Tier 1 in the near future.

If you fall into the current tier and have questions regarding your status, please contact your unit leadership. Additionally, beneficiaries over the age of 65 and high risk patients are managed by MDG Disease Management, DSN 225-2965 (from cellphone: 042-552-2510 ext. 5-2965). If you have any specific questions about the vaccine, please contact your PCM via the MDG appointment line at 225-8864 (from cellphone: 042-552-2510 ext. 5-8864).

An official announcement will be made when we enter the next tier.

We want to reassure you that the safety and wellbeing of our community is a top priority and the wing is working as quickly as possible to move to the next tier to ensure that all eligible individuals who opt-in can be vaccinated. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as the 374th Medical Group continues to distribute COVID-19 vaccines.

[01/22/21]   **VERY IMPORTANT!! LATEST YOKOTA COVID-19 VACCINE AVAILABILITY (CURRENT A/O 22 JANUARY, 1630)**

Once again, the Yokota Hospital contacted the RAO directly (late this afternoon - Fri., 22 Jan.) with the following information:

Once the vaccine arrives, the vaccine will be offered in the priority order directed by DHA. Please do not contact the medical group at this time. [12/30/20]   **IMPORTANT!! - LAST MINUTE YOKOTA HOSPITAL NEW YEAR'S HOLIDAY CLOSURE NOTICE**

The Yokota Hospital just posted the below late Monday. Not unexpected, but read and heed nonetheless. And from all three of us at the RAO, have a safe, healthy, and pleasant New Year's holiday weekend. "See" you next year! 😁

12/12/2020

👉**ONE MORE CHRISTMAS DINING ALTERNATIVE**👈

For those of you wanting a "To-Go" Christmas meal on Christmas Day (not Christmas Eve), check out the below. The Yokota "Samurai Cafe" Dining Facility (DFAC) is offering some fine food that day. NOTE: We "did our homework," and came up with the following info:

1) Main entrees are baked ham, roast turkey, and roast rib of beef.
2) It's ONLY "To-Go" for retirees and their dependents. "Dine-in" is only for meal card (ESM) holders. (There's limited seating, and Hey - it IS primarily meant for the single troops!)
3) Pay particular attention to the fine print at the bottom: there's a 33%(!) surcharge.
4) Finally, for any further info, please contact the DFAC directly (NOT the RAO) at DNS 225-8870, and ask for "Management." Or you can check out the DFAC page at this link: https://www.facebook.com/YokotaDFAC/

Enjoy the holiday, however you spend it!

Additional Christmas meals available courtesy of the DFAC! Open to all military members, retirees, DOD civilians and dependents. 🎄❄️

[12/04/20]   **IMPORTANT!! - DECEMBER YMRA MEETING CANCELLATION** (AND IMPORTANT SIDENOTE)

Apologies for the almost late posting, but no surprises here. The current (18 November) Public Health Emergency Protective Measures limit social gatherings to 6 people, and the next version (due NLT 9 December) likely won't change that. So, the Yokota Military Retirees Association (YMRA) meeting cancellation is a must.

‼️IMPORTANT SIDENOTE‼️ While we're hoping the meetings can eventually resume, with current COVID-19 infection trends, there's no way to predict when that will be. So this will be the last meeting cancellation notice issued by this page for "awhile." Unless/Until you get word otherwise (via this page, email, word-of-mouth, etc.), assume there is NO monthly meeting.

Closing on a happier note, the entire RAO staff (all three(!) of us) wish you and yours a safe, healthy, and enjoyable holiday season, however you observe it. Take care, and here's looking forward to a better New Year 2021! 😁

04/12/2020

**YOKOTA HOSPITAL DECEMBER CLOSURE DATES**

Attention Patients

[11/05/20]   **IMPORTANT!! - NOVEMBER YMRA MEETING CANCELLATION**

We wish we had better news for you, but even with the latest (8 October) Public Health Emergency Protective Measures, circumstances haven't changed enough to permit having the monthly Yokota Military Retirees Association (YMRA) meeting this month. We're hoping the meetings can eventually resume, and will pass the word as soon as that happens. In the meantime, '"keep the faith," and enjoy the Thanksgiving weekend however you observe it. And of course, stay safe and healthy!!
