The concept of the Miss Teen Portmore Scholarship Pageant came out of the need to facilitate and ass this element is crucial in the development of young minds.
The young ladies receive scholarships, cash and other prizes, not to mention special awards each year. One very special award is the "MISS ACADEMIA AWARD" where the young lady with the highest GPA is awarded a bursary and trophy.
