Sure, online menus are nothing new, but a local food fest of the best, that features menus that support local producers; that's our Jam. Speaking of Jam, welcome to Jersey Pearl Cafe who logged in and signed up. Their menu is three courses with ice cream from Jersey Dairy or crème brulée with eggs from Happy Hens 🥳

We're all set with our set menus and ready to start profiling our local restaurants that use Genuine Jersey products to create their fantastic food throughout the Autumn. One of our first menus is from the family-run Dorans Courtyard Bistro, featuring food from The Fresh Fish Company, Fungi Delecti and Woodlands Farm Butchers. We'll be giving a meal for two away during October so sign up at appetite.je!

Tennerfest and other fests like it were obviously considered when restaurants approached us trying to create a more local-based quality meal promotion with our Appetite 'Savour' Food Festival. Our research so far seems to consider that £30 is the fair price to pay for a good meal. With that in mind, it's amazing to see that there is still one option on the tennerfest available for ten pounds; a main course at Tiki Hut! Whilst we're looking to list menus that are at a higher price point, we're looking for ones that support local producers too, so invest in your diet!

We're starting to get our menus set, ready to get menus online for October! We've been in print for 12 years and it's exciting to be thinking about the creation of a better offering for both restaurants and diners. There will be no charge for our Savour Autumn promotion for restaurants and we won't be asking the public for subscription fees to get access. UK diners eat 100 million meals to protect 2 million jobs The Chancellor today thanked Britons for helping protect thousands of jobs across the UK after statistics revealed that more than 100 million meals were eaten as part of the landmark Eat Out to Help Out scheme.

We love the idea of supporting local suppliers that supply restauranteurs with their Jersey-grown brands and ingredients. If you eat local meals that use local ingredients, it puts even more money back into the local economy. We'll be promoting the use of Genuine Jersey Product Mark for local ingredients on our Savour menus.

Support the local economy, embrace seasonality and reduce your carbon footprint! Here are some of the producers we featured in last year's Appetite guide; Daz's Dough, La Crémière, La Mare Wine Estate, Jersey, Happy-Hens, Jerriaise d'Or Goat Farm, Douet Farm, The Little Jersey Biltong Company, Island's Choice Bakery and Jersey Dairy. If you're a venue that features their produce in your dishes, let us know!

According to our researched, it's clear that restaurants would rather we get good quality at a good price than go there for the cheapest meals they can produce. That doesn't really benefit us! Leftover or low cost ingredients for less is not what we want. Research also shows that local diners expect to pay a fair amount for a good meal.

Our menus will be fixed price, great value menus featuring local ingredients for diners that want the best for a good price, not half portions or budget-driven ingredients. Plus, by making it free for restaurants to participate in Savour, it means they're not having to scrimp to offer you the best!
