Lessons now recorded live in the studio!
In response to student requests who saw the benefit of lessons being recorded when teaching on line, I now offer them the facility of recording the lesson live in the studio.
I upload the lesson to Youtube on a private link and my students can watch the lesson as many times as they wish. This is a great facility to assist with their learning and perfecting the craft of playing the wonderful guitar! Above is a short clip of a live lesson with Kate. The recording is created using high end video and audio equipment.
My student Kate said " 'Having the video of my lesson sent to me, always very promptly too, is so so helpful when it comes to practising at home; I can re-watch at any time and focus on the parts I find more difficult. It's almost like being in the lesson again which is invaluable. I highly recommend lessons with Tim!

This is indeed very sad news. A great artist taken too soon. Amir pays just tribute. May he play forever amongst the stars.
Today I am very sad 😢 I was informed about the great loss of my dear brother, musician, artist, painter, creator, visionary, guitarist and even greater friend Ben Woods
All his friends, we knew he was struggling with health issues for a long time and still he has continued to show strength, passion and commitment for what he loved doing the most which was expressing through art, music and his pure emotion. He kept playing, composing and creating art for all of us!
He taught me what admiration, respect, passion, humbleness and friendship is all about.
First time I spoke to him was through a common friend from Minneapolis, Tommy Dades, when I was put on the phone, Ben and me connected immediately.
Years later I finally met him in person in Madrid when he was touring with through Europe. I was so proud of him and went to see the show. Since then we became friends and I have had the honor to feel his greatness!
Once he came to my house here in Spain and he gave me one of his own Nylocaster guitars as a present. I was speechless. He was generous, caring and authentic.
Now he is resting in peace and I am sending lots of love & light to his family and closest friends who were there for him until his last breath. My sincere condolences!
Ben please forgive me for not getting on time to your departure! Rest In Peace and wishing you all my blessings on your eternal journey.
My music will render tribute to you! Love you brother! You will be dearly missed!
Also thank you for your love, support and for being there for him.

'Flamenco thumb' is a technique for your plucking thumb to get a great sound from your guitar! It takes time and effort to perfect, but worth the graft! Only flamenco guitarists can make this unique rich sound!

My musical journey began from the age of 12, I learnt to play classical guitar which quickly progressed into learning how to play flamenco. My teacher spent many years in Spain. He was a well-connected musician and introduced me to Paco Pena, who flamenco lovers will know is a legendary flamenco guitarist. I knew this was going to be a life-long passion.
I first started teaching guitar from my mid-teens, 40 years later my love for it has not changed. I have recently retired from my full time job, after a long and successful career and some intermittent teaching along the way, I will now be putting all my time into guitar playing and tuition.
I have taught students from as young as 6 years old, as well as tutoring students of retirement age. Some have gone on to achieve grade 8 standard. I have also performed at concerts and classical guitar society gatherings over the years.
I acknowledge everyone learns at a different pace and adapt my teaching approach to maximise their musical potential, enjoyment of learning and playing the guitar to a standard that brings them pleasure and is most comfortable for them.
