If you only knew me as "Jason", this is a big one. I have a last name, and I use it. That's me. Not only do I have a last name, but I use it on the air. Yes, I'm still on the radio. After I moved back to Pennsylvania in 2017, I quickly found myself on not one, but THREE new radio stations. One was in Philadelphia and the other two were in NEPA (North Eastern Pennsylvania....Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
Scranton. Like on the Office. Yes.) After almost a year of, I decided to put all my eggs in one basket. I walked away from Philly and decided to focus on something new, exciting, challenging, and scary. Sidebar/Backstory. I started the old morning show way back in 2003 in Harrisburg, PA. In 2007, we moved to Sacramento. In 2017, I lost my job and headed back east. I left Sacramento with my family and my "stuff", but professionally, I had little more than my experience to offer. I would often describe my situation like this: Imagine there's a scientist who spent 14 years working on one giant, successful research project. Then one day the scientist is told "we've decided to take the research in different direction and unfortunately, your services are no longer needed. Good luck!"
The scientist wakes up a few days later and finds out the lab is continuing on with the research he started. He's just been removed from the project. He realizes he needs to start over. Back to the new, exciting, challenging, and scary opportunity.....
I started doing a solo talk show on a news talk radio station. No music. No partners. Just me. It was awesome. Very awkward at times, but awesome. At the end of 2018, I launched "the Jason Barsky Show," on WILK News Radio. At the end of 2020, our morning show host retired and I was offered his former position. That's what I'm doing now. It's totally different than what I used to do, with one exception. I'm still the same me you may (or may not) remember. What's the radio station? Where can I find it if I want to check out the show?
