As Chairman of the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee and working with my colleagues Assemblymembers Gary Schaer and Clinton Calabrese, we secured Wood-Ridge a $12,500,000 State Grant to expand Doyle Elementary School.

We commend the Wood-Ridge Borough Council and the Board of Education for advocating for this project that will provide new classrooms to reduce class sizes for Grades K to 6, expand the Pre-K program, and provide dedicated space for Special Education programs.

Assemblymen Schaer and Calabrese recently attended a Borough Council meeting to present the $12,500,000 grant check.

The Mayor and Council congratulate Chief Ken Schulz and the Officers and Fire Fighters of the Wood-Ridge Volunteer Fire Department on an outstanding inspection. Thank you for your dedicated service to the residents of Wood-Ridge.

We're very proud of Wood-Ridge Fire Fighters Ex Chief Thomas Bischoff Jr, Firefighter Mateusz Czwakiel and Firefighter Mateusz Czwakiel, and Hasbrouck Heights Fire Fighters Captain Miguel Gonzalez, Captain Miguel Gonzalez, and Lieutenant Daniel Wixon who received a Bergen County 200 Club Valor Award on Wednesday for saving the life of a woman who was found unconscious in an apartment Fire in Hasbrouck Heights last year.
