Korean Kickboxing Association (KKA) is officially recognised as a renewed member of the WAKO.
The KKA President Mr. Kim Hyun delivered an inspiring speech during the GA and from now on we look forward to the participation of Korean kickboxers at the WAKO events.

The Korea Kickboxing Association (KKA) has undertaken systematic efforts to restore organizational stability, normalize administrative operations, and promote the development of kickboxing in the Republic of Korea. The Association has now completed most of the legal and administrative procedures required for normalization and has established a solid foundation for nationwide organizational expansion and future growth.

The association conducted seminars for the Registration System, building an official Association database and also started with Referee and Coach education programs. The main goal is advancing Korean kickboxing in accordance with global best practices.

Beside the General Assembly which was held on 16th May, the Korea Kickboxing Association successfully hosted the Korea Kickboxing Association President’s Cup National Championship, Presidential Inauguration Ceremony, and Future Vision Declaration Ceremony to mark a new beginning and promote the advancement of Korean kickboxing.

The map of the upcoming events where Korean kickboxers are planning to participate are:

· Asian Cup (Kyrgyzstan) – August 2026
· World Cup (Uzbekistan) – October 2026
· Asian Kickboxing Championships – December 2026

The Korea Kickboxing Association will continue to pursue the following objectives:

· Hosting national championships in the first and second half of each year
· Implementation of the nationwide registration system
· Strengthening activities of provincial and metropolitan associations
· Expansion of the national organizational network
· Increased participation in international competitions
· Establishment of a systematic national kickboxing structure
· Building the foundation for rejoining the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee (KSOC)

The 2026 Brazilian Kickboxing Championships have entered their second day of competition, marked by exciting matchups, surprising results, and an exceptional technical and organizational standard, reaffirming the strength and professionalism of the sport in Brazil.

The city of Curitiba, is hosting more than 2,000 people directly involved in the event. This remarkable participation reflects the continued growth of Brazilian Kickboxing and highlights the importance of the Brazilian Championships as the country’s premier national competition.

In addition to the high level of competition, the event stands out for the excellent infrastructure provided through the fundamental support of the Government of the State of Paraná, through the State Secretariat of Sport and the SETU – Secretariat of Tourism.

The WAKO President Roy Baker highlighting the importance of 2026 WAKO World Championships for children, cadets and juniors to be held in Jesolo, Italy this September.
What makes this Championship different is that WAKO has joined International School Sport Organization ISF (International School Sport Federation) and this championship will serve as the qualifying event for the World School Sport Championship, to be held in Serbia 2027.
President Baker said:
“ I am very excited about this. This is the first time ever for kickboxing to be a part of the School Sport Championship. This is the opportunity for our the youngest athletes to shine on international stage.
In the end, the children are our future. Almost 70% of our athletes and fans are under the age of 18. This show that WAKO base is strong.
Our job is to nurture and keep this base strong,” said President Baker.
