We are working on the design of the exhibition TEMPIETTI by the sculptor at , from the exhibition path to the design of the pedestals.

Our craftsmanship approach includes direct contact with the material. Physical models of various scales from the smallest to the mockup allow us to investigate every aspect of the project.

Embrace Earth and Sky

The project embraces in a physical and, at the same time, symbolic act, a portion of the outside world, creating within its spaces, a protected microcosm that welcomes children. “Halfway between earth and sky" the space reveals itself in a growing tension between stability and instability, durability and ephemerality. This tension translates into a design antinomy linked to the antithetical relationship between massive and light structure. On the one side, the mass of the school base and of the rooms that are firmly anchored to the earth wish to give a sense of certainty, on the other, the light and ephemeral structure of the blue corrugated sheet of the roof relates to the limitless and immaterial world of the sky, representing a dream-like feeling, in which anything is possible.

Marble Venue

The town of Botticino, located in the province of Brescia, has lived for centuries of extraction, processing and trade of a precious and unique quality of marble. Here, close to a hill that rises in the middle of the quarries, we have been commissioned to design a multifunctional pavilion in which to organize meetings, presentations and exhibitions on the theme of Botticino’s Classic Marble.

Model of the playground Bicho, Teatrinho e Fogo.

The project, promoted by Casa da Arquitectura, was designed by Associates Architecture together with COR arquitectos and Ivo Poças Martins. The playground was built through a participatory construction workshop with twenty students from all over the world, together with the inhabitants of the neighbourhood, and with the partnership of the Porto Academy summer school. Bicho, Teatrinho e Fogo proved to be an example of how architecture can still have a strong social value.

Tribe

The island of Puerto Rico is one of the areas most affected by natural disasters.
The constant rains, hurricanes and earthquakes over the years have made it become a very fragile area.

Tribe is a project part of a larger masterplan “Quality of Fragility” designed by SM_48 and Silvia Aloisio for the University of Florida and Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico which gathered three young Italian offices for three architectures: Lorenzo Guzzini for the project “The Heart”, Studio Spazio for the project “Water Tower Observatory” and Associates for project Tribe.
Tribe starting from this fragility seen as an opportunity and from the study of local spontaneous architecture tries to create a prototype of accommodation: easy to build, respectful of the place and of the memory, and capable of regenerating itself every time starting from the founding trace of the staircase which, in the event of a calamity, represents a sculptural element in the landscape that suggests a new beginning.
