Bitumen_Emulsion
This type of bitumen forms a two phase system with two immiscible liquids. One of them is dispersed as fine globules within another liquid. When discrete globules of bitumen are dispersed in a continuous form of water, bitumen emulsion is formed.
This is a form of pe*******on grade bitumen that is mixed and used for laying purposes.

Cutback Bitumen:
This type of bitumen has a temporarily reduced viscosity by the introduction of a volatile oil. Once after the application, the volatile material is evaporated and bitumen gain its original viscosity.

Oxidized Bitumen:
The refinery bitumen is further treated by the introduction of processed air. This will give us oxidized bitumen. By maintaining a controlled temperature, the air is introduced under pressure into soft bitumen.
It is used for industrial aplications like such as roofing and coating for pipes.

It is manufactured at different viscosities. The pe*******on test is carried out to characterize the bitumen, based on the hardness.
The pe*******on bitumen grades range from 15 to 450 road bitumen. But the most commonly used range is 25 to 200

Different modes of shipment for bitumen: see shipment and land shipment.

FOB: Free on Board: the goods are delivered at the port of country of origin.

CIF: Cost insurance and freight: the commodity is received at the port of country of destination and the goods have insurance. This kind of transportation includes the cost and freight and also the insurance of the bitumen.

CFR: Cost and Freight: the bitumen is received at the port of the country of destination. This kind of transporting includes the cost and freight of the bitumen without any insurance.

Exwork: It means delivering of the bitumens at the place of work back in the country of origin mostly at the doors of the supplying factory.

Steel drums:
Drummed bitumen has been the most common type of packaging. They capacity ranges from 150 kg to 200 kg.
The amount of wastage: Around 3-5% of bitumen is always remaind inside of the drum.

Containers:
These tanks are used for transport and storage of bitumen emulsions, PMBs and heavy fuel oils.
Heating systems include direct fire, thermal oil, electric and combinations.

Jumbo bag:
It is a flexible multi layered bag with high quality and resistance. Many industries prefer to purchase bitumen with this type of packaging due to ease of use and reasonable price. It reduces the bitumen waste by 3% whis is an addition reasson for its popularity.
