A recent French study by ANSES (France’s food safety agency), published in the Journal of Food Composition and Analysis, found that glass‑bottled beverages contain significantly more microplastics than their plastic‑packaged equivalents.

📌 Key findings:
• ~100 microplastic particles/L on average in glass bottles of soda, iced tea, lemonade, and beer — 5× to 50× more than plastic bottles or cans .
• Beer averaged 60 p/L, lemonade ~40 p/L, soft drinks ~30 p/L .
• Water in glass: 4.5 p/L, vs plastic: 1.6 p/L .
